Blaming Victims especially Donald Sterling - Can Oprah Come to the Rescue?

Oprah Winfrey wants to be half-owner of the chippers not her usually compassionate efforts.

Privacy and freedom of speech is gone for cancer victim media star Donald Sterling. For him it would be good news if he was only harassed by paparazzi. His crying pain to his want-to-be dream girlfriend Vanessa Stiviano, who is hoping to tease him out of more money is being lapped up by the public the way Ancient Romans enjoyed watching people fed to the lions, excerpted in the worst possible way by media hounds and characterized by entertainers for even more pleasure. The following link is an entertainer playing obnoxiously with a cardboard cut out of Donald Sterling

The pain of his cancer, and the stress in his face missing from that smiling caricature. Paparzzi have been cornered into not releasing to the public intimate incidents involving children of movie stars; but lack of criticizing of TMZ for revealing Donald Sterling's inner life, not even being pressured into revealing whether Vanessa Stiviano had them released to further fleece Donald Sterling will encourage the release of more garbage in the future.

Oprah Winfrey usually has great insight into people's internal demons and hopes, and it served her well and helped her help others in the process, her comment about plantation mentality did not live up her usual insights in understanding a person's extreme distress. People hoped Donald Sterling would be quickly chased away but, even if he is too sick with cancer to fight or too close to being senile, but his ex-wife will fight for her half for years. Perhaps a compromise can be arranged such as Donald Sterling being able to keep attending the games he loves while transferring the ownership to Oprah and others.

A sports writer Jason Whithitlock and sports hero Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. rose to the occasion and defended Donald Sterling's right to privacy. Reading Jason Whitlock's statement now before continuing to read this blog may be helpful. Enclosed is a link to the full length Donald Sterling in-pain tape, not the juicy excerpts, and the next link below is Jason Whitlock and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar trying to bring us to our senses, with what I think are persuasive comments, that maybe should be clicked now instead of when finishing reading my blog piece,

Won't fix our racist culture,

If Oprah, Jason, Kareem, and Donald go to a Clipper's game together talking to each other, perhaps there will be a little peace near the end of a troubled old man's life.

Everyone let's get together and put an end to the petty, vengeful nonsense of the first half of the 2010s, besides only two sports heroes standing up for Donald Sterling's right to privacy, on another subject only one commentator stood up for the integrity of Iran's new ambassador to the UN who has to vote at the UN by email because he is banned from entering the US as a so-called terrorist during the Iranian Hostage crisis,

Again even the President has added into this pettiness like he did with Donald Sterling. The hot-head fanatics who seized the US embassy in Iran knew not a word of English, Had Hamid Aboutalebi (now an ambassador) who spoke fluent English been called there to translate earlier perhaps more than 13 hostages might have been released, as the crowds of ordinary people ended up gathering and cheered them their demands went up so if they would have had to wait longer for a translator the 13 hostages released might have stayed there over a year, tough on the women to be cooped up with angry male hostage takers. Before this witch-hunt there was the petty attack on civil rights attorney Debo Adegibile. He went to work for the NAACP after they took up the Mumia abu-Jamal appeal and made no decision different then anyone else did who had his job. If he wasn't qualified, then no lawyer working for the NAACP was. He was harassed by lies of being in Paris to celebrate a street named for Mumia and other lies that still endanger Democratic Senators in already close reelection fights. To get this away from a left-vs right thing read the strong defense by gay blooger Andrew Sullivan, defending Brendan Eich trying to keep his job at Microsoft, despite giving a $1000 donation to oppose a marriage equality in a referendum six years earlier. If a company can fire over a donation years earlier people who work for Monsanto are now worried about giving a donation for non-genetically engineered food and those working for the oil companies afraid to give donations to a radical environmental group like Greenpeace,

If the few who courageously stand up in each of these causes would help explain and stand up for each other's cause as well it would have a powerful result. Let's make sure the 2nd half of the 2010s stop terrorizing people for almost nothing. This, for all our, good regardless of each of our own personal politics.

Let's notice Donald Sterling's extreme distress without becoming like Ancient Romans enjoying the show. Magic Johnson said, “I’m going to pray for him and hope things work out for him.” Let the rest of us join in ending the cyber-feeding of Donald Sterling to the lions

I hope Oprah returns to her role of helping us understand ourselves and each other. Helping herself and many others in the process. Donald Sterling wants good role models, as he complains about Magic Johnson. Oprah might become that one despite the media's irritation that she doesn't lavishly shop much except when her movie promoters said she needed to right before her movie came out.

Don't forget Oprah's rags to riches role model,
