Inspiration Toward Changing US Foreign Policy
Some Call Abortion Cruel and some point to cruel policies by politicians like President Trump,
A Venezuelan pastor with a pro-life pitch is emphasizing that the blockade by the US is suffocating the Venezuelan people
Lately many have made, and attempted, change with anger, at George Floyd’s gruesome death, President Trump, and similar causes, But there is diminishing returns in trying to keep people continuously anger. Guilt and anger over foreign policy is becoming empty rhetoric as a few continue to complain about, for instance, the US supplying arms to Saudi Arabia to bomb hungry children in Yemen.
This were different under Kennedy and Obama who created change through inspiration as many joined the Peace Corp and Job Corp under Kennedy or got jobs in foreign service careers under Obama. Ambassador Chris Steven a former Ambassador to Libya was at first inspired by the Peace Corp, eventually even thought his local friendships and foreign policy skills made him safe to roam the streets shaking hands and waving to passers by without his security escort, constantly challenging security details.
Today for a change Supreme Court Judge Amy Barrett is inspiring over a million conservative women with her skillfully juggling raising a large family, including an adopted Haitian orphan, while doing full-time Court work. But this inspiration has nowhere to go. The five conservative judges are wary of drastic change unlike Donald Trump and whatever they end up doing, West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin is against abortion and will never allow the packing of the Supreme Court, those who dream of the womb being a safer place for a baby to grow have nowhere to go, on this issue relating to whether the Democrats or Republicans end up controlling the Senate.
However in Venezuela there is an evangelist pastor who inspires local conservatives as much as Judge Amy does in this country. Javier Bertucci also has a large family and an adopted child he calls a gift from God. When not sparing with the Nicolas Maduro government and trying to get around the parsonage ridden identification card system, he is joining with fellow Venezuelan conservative politician Henri Falcon and the Venezuelan government in opposing the suffocating US blockade. Both Falcon and Bertucci are very articulate in Spanish and need to talk directly to the North American people, especially conservative Americans.
President Trump decided the once President of the Venezuelan Senate Juan Guaidó is the actual government of Venezuela, seizing Venezuelan owned property like Citgo gas stations, the Venezuelan Embassy and all other property owned by Venezuela and supposedly giving it to Juan Gualido, who basically keeps begging for a US invasion of Venezuela which both Falcon. Pastor Bertucci, and the Venezuelan government strenuously oppose. More and more people in Venezuela are mad at Juan Guaido because of the US blockade. When it came to Cuba or Iran the US froze assets, the US economic attack on Venezuelan is more overwhelming.
Women’s rights is a sticky issue, but Venezuelans would appreciate it if one condom or even one birth control pill was not more costly than an average Venezuelan’s daily pay. The disaster US is co-sponsoring is worse than anywhere else besides in Yemen. Both the Venezuelan government and its loyal opposition beg the US to let Venezuela breeze. Let’s listen to their pleas.
While I oppose any hash punishments for abortions, I am one of those who dream of the womb being a saver place for a baby to grow in. Let’s have a Federal law that a surrogate mother can not be in any way sanctioned for refusing to abort an unwanted twin.
A tragic situation is when a woman really wants a child but needs chemotherapy or other medication that is harmful to unborn babies, In this case I propose that Medicare and insurgence companies pay for surrogacy toward the birth. If after an unplanned night of drinking or an awkward unplanned situation if a women with medical conditions wonders if she is pregnant the embryo could be frozen and insurance or Medicare pay for it. At one point suicide was strenuously condemned even threatened with punishment in The Afterlife, now instead, suicide hot-lines try to be helpful, I think any attempt to make the womb a safer place to grow in should also be done with the spirit of being helpful.
One way or another let’s get over the hangover of many supporting a goon for President in order to try to make the womb a safer placer for a baby to grow in. The current US deadlock is deadly.
Our society is gridlocked into two conflicting ruts. In Venezuela and elsewhere many don’t divide politics this way, let us all find words and connections to loosen up the ruts.
