Think this one through:Republicans cry we need to cut government jobs and create more private sector jobs.Actually,that is what is already happening despite all the rhetoric.
Since July 2010,over 600,000 government sector jobs have been lost while over that same period the private sector has added 2.2 million jobs largely due to Obama's stimulus program.
Just think if we did not lose all those teachers,firefighters,and policeman,this recovery would be much stronger with unemployment much lower and confidence much higher.
If the GOP takes control of more branches of government in 2012 their austerity proposals like opposing Obama's job bill to hire more policeman and teachers and forcing deep cuts in government spending, will likely lead to a double dip recession.
Yes, we need to ultimately cut spending, but if we had sharply cut spending the last three years rather than pass the stimulus we surely would have been in a depression.Their policies almost drove us of a cliff in 2008 and if their solutions for recovery through harsh austerity had been implemented we would have crashed to the bottom of that cliff.
