November 4 was not the end of the world; it was the end of an election cycle. November 5 was the beginning of another election cycle and that is the problem. We as a nation spend too much time and energy on our national elections and not enough time and energy on governing. I have a solution that requires a Constitutional amendment. National elections every four years, not every two. Presidents and members of the House are elected for four-year terms and half the members of the Senate for eight year terms. Senators to serve for eight years while Presidents and members of the House serve four years, no term limits for anyone including the President. No more lame ducks and this change would help ensure that Congress and the President would work together for our benefit.
