In his state of the union speech in 1941, FDR listed four freedoms that he said everyone and everywhere was entitled to:
Freedom of speech and expression
Freedom of worship
Freedom from want
Freedom from fear
Now the GOP have their version of the four freedoms, but only for the 1%:
Freedom from taxes
Freedom from regulation
Freedom from helping the less fortunate
Freedom from the truth
The GOP have a different four freedoms for the 99%:
Freedom from retirement
Freedom from universal healthcare
Freedom from good jobs that pay well
Freedom to starve
These are the Republican four freedoms times two. Elect Mitt if you want to see them established in the US and throughout the world. Vote to re-elect President Obama if you prefer FDR's original version and vision.
During the RNC, Marco Rubio misspoke when he said that the GOP support more government and less freedom. He meant to say more freedom and less government, but they are not opposite and mutually exclusive. Freedom can be increased for the many by government regulation of the few who want to take advantage of us, such as oil companies and Wall Street banks.
