The Liberal Media...

It's a thing of the past. No really. That bias is gone and the pendulum has swung way to the right.

Example: Remember 2009? Network news coverage was laced with angry Republicans taking Democrats to task in angry town hall meetings. It was on all the channels both network and cable. Fast forward to present. Republican representatives are being skewered by angry constituents in town hall meetings all across the country. You didn't know? I can't blame you for that. The networks and cable stations haven't said boo about it. Not a word.

Last night one cable news show, The Rachel Maddow Show

finally broke the silence. The Republicans are having difficulty convincing their own people that the Ryan budget is a good thing. Independent economists have let the cat of the bag and the word is spreading that the Ryan proposal not only destroys Medicare but it also will ADD 6 trillion dollars to the deficit.

You remember the deficit right? All the Republican/Tea Party candidates who just voted FOR the Ryan plan campaigned on reducing the big, bad deficit because it was the monster that would destroy our nation. Truth be told the Obama plan adds around 7 trillion to that same deficit.

The only plan that actually balances the budget and reduces the deficit is the The Progressive Budget Alternative

You didn't hear about this proposal in the mainstream media? Of course not. All the news networks and cable news channels are acting as if this proposal could give a person leprosy just from reading it.

Daily Kos, Newsvine and other political blogging sites are talking about it. Paul Krugman wrote an op-ed piece in the New York Times
http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/04/22/the-progressive-budget-alternative/
about this budget, but that's about it. The Beltway media hasn't said boo about it and probably won't.

Mainstream media is corporate owned. They are not about to cover any budget proposal that doesn't server their own interests first. So if you want to learn about how to actually fix the problems we face as a nation you may have to turn off the TV and Talk radio and do some research on the internet. That pesky internet may just break the truth out of the corporate jailhouse yet.
