WISDOM OF A SIX YEAR OLD… A TRUE STORY.

True story ...

We were hiking out of a forest in the White Mountains of New Hampshire when I said to my grandson Henry, who is six years old, "I was bitten by mosquitoes three times, but I zapped four of them with my mosquito zapper… I won."
I was making a joke.

"No you didn’t, Granddad," Henry said.
"Yes I did! Why do you say that?"
"It's not a contest," he replied, "so you didn’t win.”

Afterwards I gave his idea some thought. He was quite right. I'd gotten bitten three times and four mosquitoes were killed. It certainly wasn’t a contest. There were no winners, just losers all around.
There is no contest when there’s no way to win.

Reminded me of Obama's war in Afghanistan and Bush's war in Iraq.
There were/are no winners – only losers… Except for the war profiteers, whom (thank heavens) Henry knows nothing about.
