o My Friends on Facebook,

I want to thank you all for reading my posts, articles and books and for sharing your opinions with me. Yes, I read them and give each the thought it deserves.

The end of the year always makes us look back at what’s happened so we know how to look forward to make things better. Politically, this has been a very anxious year of bumbling, lying, and attempts to bit by bit dismantle the soul of the Constitution. But socially, we have seen people fight back from all factions of society. Black Lives Matter. #MeToo. LGBTQ activists. NAACP. ACLU. And equally impressive, the rising voice of average working people who are just fed up with seeing the obscenely rich get obscenely richer thanks to Administration tax breaks and deregulation.

In 2018, there will be an effort to stifle all those opposing voices. But we all need to work together to keep reminding the powers that be that we have the power to keep or remove them. And that we intend to use that power.

p.s.

Thank you, President Obama, for mentioning my book, Coach Wooden and Me, as one of your favorites for the year. I guess that means I’ll have to let you score a few pity points whenever we play our one-on-one game.

Kareem
