Another Win on Net Neutrality

“Court backs rules treating Internet as a utility, not a luxury”
- New York Times, 6/14/16

fter years of struggle, millions of digital signatures, and too many emails to count, we’ve reached another important milestone -- a court has rejected an appeal from corporations that oppose net neutrality.

This is an enormous victory for consumers, for businesses, and for our economy which has benefitted from the innovation that the open Internet has fostered for the past several decades.

Net neutrality guarantees a level playing field online, and it ensures that your right to be heard won’t be limited by your ability to afford higher fees. To paraphrase Vice President Biden, this is a deal of noteworthy dimensions.

Thanks to your work, we went head-to-head against deep-pocketed corporations and their lobbyists, and we won. That is also a deal of noteworthy dimensions.

But as we've learned, those deep-pocketed corporations and lobbyists do not give up easily. Reports have indicated they are so opposed to net neutrality they may take the issue to the Supreme Court.

I’m writing to say thank you. But I'm also writing to ask for your activism once more. Please add your name to our petition to keep the pressure on. This victory has shown it does not go unnoticed.

You earned this win, and you should be proud of what our grassroots network has achieved. Let's keep it up.
