Please, Somebody, Just Leak the Damn CIA Report

By Charles Pierce, Esquire

29 August 14

ho could have predicted this?

Besides, you know, everybody.

"They knew exactly how it was done," a person with direct knowledge of what happened to the hostages said of the Islamic State militants. The person, who discussed the hostages' experience on the condition of anonymity, said the captives were held in Raqqah, a city in north-central Syria.

Please, somebody, goddammit, just leak the damn report. All of it, CIA concerns be damned. Because now not only do we have a moral right and a moral duty to know everything that was done in our name, but we also have a national interest in determining to what extent the behavior of our government differed from the behavior of ISIS, besides the fact that (as far as we know) none of our captives were beheaded. That's a pretty low bar for an evolved democracy, but there it is. I no longer care about phantom "national security" concerns. Fk the torturers and fk their enablers in Congress, and fk all redactors, and fk the pet lawyers and bureaucrats that made torture legal and acceptable. Let what's going to happen to them happen. Let justice be done though the heavens fall and John Yoo loses his job. They opened the door to this, with their memos and their barely stifled giggles. They grafted sadism onto the Constitution. They taught ISIS its techniques. James Foley, a fellow Warrior, god rest his brave soul, was tortured before he was murdered using techniques that barbarians learned from the oh-so-civilized heroes of our National Security state. This is what we teach the world now. Are you guys proud? Does your heart swell in the faculty lounges and in the cozy think-tanks? Does it swell with pride at the impact you've had on the world?

How do you like your blue-eyed boy now, Mr. Death?

Until we direct our anger into direct action and acts of civil disobedience on a massive scale, coupled with refusing to pay our taxes and shutting down the corporate machine by not showing up for work, nothing will change, except it will get worse.

why should we pay taxes? Our government clearly represents the interests of the 1% so let them foot the bill.

Civil disobedience, refusing to pay taxes, and voluntary absence from work are acts of LAST resort and should only be attempted AFTER we have achieved 100% voter turnout at every election.

We have an effective method for making changes- voting- and WE AREN'T USING IT.

All those protests and disobedience in places like Ferguson, MO mean NOTHING if people don't VOTE IN NOVEMBER.

Make sure you are registered to vote NOW. Make sure you have the required ID NOW. Find out where your polling place is NOW, and show up in November- and bring a friend or three along to the polling place.

100%? How about we pay taxes and work after 100% of Citizens United is repealed?

Since we will never achieve anything approaching 75 percent vo
ter turnout, let alone 100%, your position is that we do nothing Have you not noticed how people vote in this country? Have you not noticed the low class people they elect? Do you know Kansas? or Indiana? or North Carolina? or Alabama?

If we never achieve a high voting percentage, it's your own damned fault and everyone else who doesn't help get out the vote. When was the last time you went door to door to help ensure that everyone went to the polls.
Americans need to stop bitching about their elected officials and elect officials we can be proud of. IWorkForMorons is exactly right. Get off your ass and VOTE -- and make sure your friends, neighbors and voting age children do likewise.

Pikewich, with his telling us how to go about peacefully revolting against and imploding this dreadful mess, needs to be heard, far and wide, here in this no longer a democracy.

Please, IWorkForMorons, take a look at the documentary, The Uncounted, and wake up to how villainaire rulers operate: election fraud via software 'fixing', with no investigation, prosecution, meaningful penalization in place. In 2008, vast numbers turned out at the polls and voted for HOPE for CHANGE with our now Pres. Obama, and rather than change occurring, the Bushwhacking/Ko chsucking mess has increased, with more govt. agents controlling local cops and turning this into a FASCIST POLICE STATE, more surveillance on us all with whistleblowers and truthtellers labeled 'terrorists', no closure of Guantanamo, etc. etc. evil etc..

Step one needed: restoration of every person being allowed to vote, each vote being honestly counted and tallied (with immediate proof of same, i.e. paper copies provided to each voter of aforementioned) , and no private contributions allowed (including 1%ers Citizens United buyoffs of pols./election 'fixing'). Hefty penalties (i.e. mandatory incarceration) on any and all who dare to buy off pols. and/or put 'election fraud/control via disenfranchisem ent, gerrymandering, etc. in place.

Follow we must, examples of what works in other nations, i.e. light amounts of govt $ only to candidates.

In order to give representative democracy a chance to generate change, it would be necessary to implement some form of "proportional representation" (as has been done in 75% to 90% of the world's liberal democratic countries.

As Kurt Vonnegut said (1972), the USA has two "pretend" political parties, the Republicans and the Democrats and the USA also has two "real" political parties, the Winners and the Losers. So, since both pretend parties are dominated by Winners, in every election Winners will win.

But, if congressional seats were allocated according to the percentage of votes case, the Green Party (for example) with only 5% of the vote could get 20 or so seats. This might encourage others to topple the oligopoly.

Of course, people point at Italy which changes governments as often as some people change their underwear. But, Germany, Sweden, etc. all have "PR" and they're doing fine.

Think about it. What if you had a real choice, and that your vote for what you really believe in, not just the lesser of two evils, actually mattered.

Can't be done? That's what they said in Norway and other civilized democracies. As it happened, it could.

+3 # wrknight 2014-09-01 11:13
OK, think about this. If you could get every person who doesn't vote to vote for a third party candidate, that candidate would win hands down.

Yes, it's important that every person be eligible to vote but it's even more important to get people who are eligible to vote to get off their ass and vote. The number of people who are not eligible to vote in this country is a small fraction of the number of people who are eligible but don't bother to vote.

--- We should also restore the right of prisoners to vote. The only reason they lost their right to vote is because after being in prison, most ex-convicts tend to vote Democratic, so the Righties made this part of the punishment process to boost their voting numbers and reduce liberal votes.

That is ridiculous. A far greater message would be sent to the fascist terrorists regime of Obama's if NO ONE VOTES. That is what gets their attention. Unfortunately, neither option is realistic, both idealistic. Still, if I had my way, no one would vote. Then, you'd hear a big ugly silence fall over the Black House and the Black Congress, because then they would know they are in our crosshairs. Voting is irrelevant from now on. No one's vote counts because no good people are chosen by the KOCHs to rule the fascist terrorist cabal names USA, or more accurately: Fascist Terrorist Regime of Amerika, Inkorporated. The usa is only a front umbrella name for the lawless cruelty of big money (read: Wehrmacht, energy industry, banks).

Oh great idea. All we have to do is to pick pile of shit A or pile of shit B. That is your choice, or you are just 'throwing your vote away." If voting could make any changes it would be against the law. Our electoral system is TOTALLY CORRUPT! Bush never got elected once but he served (the banksters) for two.

Don't pay fines either. Or licenses or registrations. Pay the government nothing, and boycott the corporations. Do without or figure another way, like sharing or buying only used things. Starve the beast.

THE COURT SYSTEM IS ONE OF THE MOST CORRUPT IN THE WORLD. Read "Death of The Justice System" by Linda Achors , you will learn how cases get fixed to select a winner. There are audiotapes that prove the fraud in court.

Thanks Pikewich. You are right. Paying taxes is voluntary. citizens pay taxes because they approve of the services governments provide. This works at the local level where citizens get schools, trash collection, traffic control, and all the general community maintenance that city and county governments do.

citizens pay taxes for social security and medicare because people get something for the money they pay. But SS taxes are a separate tax. We get almost nothing for the income taxes we pay. Would anyone give a business such a huge amount of money for nothing. Americans are chumps. We need massive tax resistance. They can't put everyone in jail. In fact they can't even put 1 million in jail.

The US validation of torture as a strategic technique has enabled its international use, including its use against US nationals. What goes around, comes around. US military weaponry used in foreign situations has come home to domestic situations. What goes around comes around. The US populace should wake up to the fact that, per multi-national corporations, all humans beings are expendable tools in their quest for profit. The conservative ascendancy that began with
Reagan has resulted in the US gov't becoming a service agent for corporate interests. It's not the gov't, stupid, it's the corporations that now run the gov't, which the founders tried to reserve as "...of, for, and by the people." In the (paraphrased) words of Franklin, "It is a republic, if you can keep it." The US electorate didn't.

What a mob here...

Try looking at the record of Barbary Coast (Muslim) pirates and their behavior.

Be patient. The full load of Mohammedanism mischief is on the way to your area. Of course it takes serious example before people believe anything, so sit back, relax and read up.

"Leathernecks", a nickname for the USMC was coined as the leather wrapped Marines took on the Barbary Pirate slave traders who favored large sabres called scimitars. The inner radius edge was sharp, made for head chopping. The Marines were good scouts- prepared... They brought guns to the knife fight.

As in Jefferson's term, it seems Islam will again, in our time jump the wrong outfit. Not only will American Muslims suffer consequences, expect the map of the Middle East to be changed, with Israel expanded to Covenant borders described in Joshua Chapter 1.

We all own a piece of this because circa WWI we Yankees chose to dismantle 2/3 of perfectly good railway mileage and throw Trillions$ at the oil nations of Islam. For Arabs in turn, trapped by feudal genes and mission to destroy Israel, avoiding present tragedy is impossible.

Salient fact there is Spiritual component here detailed in the Hebrew Scriptures and mirrored in the Qur'an is ignored by our thoroughly modern, politically correct but abysmally ignorant leadership. But not to fear: Islam also ignores prophetic warnings about messing with Israel!

+43 # futhark 2014-08-30 04:06
Tahoevalleyline s, I have not experienced, nor have I heard any reports of, "Mohammedanism mischief" in my area to date.

The legal status of the Covenant borders described in Joshua Chapter 1 are probably not recognized as legitimate by the international community in the 21st century. Otherwise, any group could make reference to something written thousands of years ago or some ancient tradition justifying aggressive territorial expansion. There are good reasons why thoroughly modern, politically correct leadership should ignore portions of the Hebrew Scriptures and they have little to do with abysmal ignorance.

We are no longer dealing directly with the expansion of the Israelites into Canaan or with containment of the Barbary Coast pirates. There may be important reasons for studying these historical incidents, but to think we are dealing with the same people is profound stupidity.

For the historical record, the United States was never at war with the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) during World War I, even though the Ottomans were allied to Germany and Austria, with which we were at war. American troops were not active in the Middle East in World War I and did not dismantle 2/3 of any railway mileage there.

As a biologist interested in human genetics, I would like to know more about these "feudal genes" and the trapping power which they allegedly posses.

While you're relying upon ancient ' Covenant borders', how about applying the same ethic to American Indigenous peoples' territory?

But at the time Jefferson said explicitly that the US was not declaring war on Islam itself but specifically on these pirates, you can look that up!

As a veteran investigative journalist, I regard Foley as a courageous brother.

Yes, he was killed by the vile infection our nation spread throughout the region: Torture and murder.

All for oil. And power.

Think about the last 70 years--really sort out the facts, and sift out the bullshit.

Then ask: Why do these people despise us?

Why do I not hear anyone call for a GENERAL STRIKE to protest the atrocities being committed by our government in our name and specifically denouncing the use of torture? Nothing less will create the pressure sufficient to force the prosecution of these villains. This problem cannot be solved by "voting." Because no candidate is campaigning on a platform which condemns torture and calls for the prosecution of its perpetrators.
