Obama and Bill Nye Take on 'Climate Denier Club' in Congress

By Cole Mellino, EcoWatch

27 April 15

ill Nye and President Obama celebrated Earth Day by visiting Everglades National Park. The president spoke about the threat that climate change poses in the latest part of his effort to call attention to the need to act on climate change.

President Obama lamented the way some lawmakers are “being part of the climate-denier clubs and basically stiff-arming what we know are facts—and not rebutting them with other facts, but rebutting them with anecdote or just being dismissive.”

President Obama also announced that his administration is investing millions in new funding to protect our parks and in another initiative to help farmers, ranchers and forest land owners reduce net greenhouse gas emissions. While in the Everglades, the President sat down with Bill Nye to discuss climate change, conservation and science education in America.
