We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Well said, Mr. Wasserman. Democracy is struggling to be reborn in America. Led by women, minorities, and social democrats, the good guys are fighting the hard fight to make our nation truly great again and truly responsive to the wishes of the people. The suffrage spring must be made clean and swept of Republican debris. This is basic. 2018 was a significant start but we must keep the momentum of reform going. Gain this and let everyone have their say through the election process and we will once again be the hope of the world. Please Lord, let it be so.

I would be wary of praising the elevation of Arizona's uber-cynical Kyrsten Sinema to the US Senate. Her repeated self-transforma tions over the last 15 years ought to give one pause. In the early 2000s she was an anti-war activist. Then as a junior state legislator she made herself a hero of wealthy Gay donors by claiming to be "bi." Then she became a well-financed Blue Dog right wing Dem congressperson. Now she's portraying herself as the second-coming as the Second Coming of John "War is the Answer" McCain. Be careful what you wish for.
