In order to deflect the attention of international community from Indian state terrorism and the new phase of the Kashmiri Intifada, India orchestrated the drama at a military base in Uri close to the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan on September 18, 2016 and killed its own 19 soldiers in one of the most deadly attacks on security forces in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). Like the previous terror attacks of Mumbai of November 26, 2008, the Indian parliament of December 13, 2001 and at Indian Air Force Base in Pathankot of January 2, 2016 which were false flag terror operations, without any investigation, Indian top civil and military officials had started accusing Pakistan and its security agencies, especially linking Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) the banned Lashkar-e-Tayba (LeT) regarding the Uri base terror assault.

India orchestrated the Uri base drama also to obtain some other sinister designs. By manipulating this false flag terror attack, the BJP-led Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi started a blame game against Pakistan’s army and ISI, and has also accelerated war-hysteria against Pakistan. Indian forces have continued violations at the LoC by shelling in Pakistani side of Azad Kashmir. Afterwards, various developments like Indian fake surgical strikes inside Azad Kashmir, criticism of the Indian rulers by the opposition parties, differences between the army chief and the government exposed the false episode of Indian security agencies, particularly secret agency RAW, which arranged attack at the Uri base.

It is of particular attention that the true story of the two Pakistani students Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed further proved India’ arranged drama at the Uri base.

Especially, Ahsan Khurshid son of Muhammad Khurshid told that I and my class fellow/friend Faisal planned to visit Pir Kanthi Ziarat. On 21, September 2016, we went to Khaliana for Pir Kanthi via forest route. When we reached Dhoke Punch [Indian Border Security Force] BSF arrested us, covered our eyes with black cloth and took us to their post. Through the brutal treatment meted out to us, ISF (Indian Security Force) soldiers were trying to make us confess that we were Mujahideen and coming back from IOK (Indian Occupied Kashmir) and trying to link us with Uri incident. We did not know about this incident and also denied affiliation with any organizations.

He said that after a few days we were handed over to some expert individuals who after interrogation took us to Jammu and produced us before a civil judge. After that we both were shifted to Delhi by helicopter for further interrogation. Before every interrogation we were injected with some toxin which made us lose our senses. They pressurized us to provide information regarding Mujahideen activities, training camps, offices and activities at Chakothi Terminal. We maintained our innocence about such activities. We were again shifted to Jammu Jail and kept with arrested Mujahideen. There were 23 Mujahideen and 2 civil truck drivers who were undergoing imprisonment for the past 10 years.

He stated that an advocate named Shafqat Mehmood met us twice in Jammu Jail and informed that he has appealed our case in the High Court and told us that we were innocent and will be released soon.

He added that after 6 months we were handed over to Pakistan Rangers at Wahgah Border on March 10, 2017. After interrogation they sent us to Rawalpindi from where we were brought to Muzaffarabad fort by some agency. They released us after debriefing.

In this respect various media reports and the Press Trust of India (PTI), including some reliable online sources also pointed out the story of Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed. They wrote that Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed, the two Pakistani men whom India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) had initially said were involved in guiding terrorists to an Indian army camp in Uri last year, were handed over to their families at the Wagah border crossing.

These reports wrote, “The NIA had freed the two men, clarifying that the suspects had actually run away from home to avoid studies.”

Particularly, the Press Trust of India (PTI) had quoted an NIA spokesperson as saying that “Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed were handed over to the Indian army’s 16 Corps headquarters in Jammu to be sent back home…the NIA’s probe revealed that the two suspects had crossed over to the Indian side after an altercation with their parents due to the pressure of studies...evidence collected in the form of statements, technical analysis of their mobile phones, seized GPS devices and other circumstantial evidence collected by the NIA did not reveal any linkage of the suspects with the Uri attackers…in September last year, four heavily armed militants had stormed the Uri army base camp in held-Kashmir, killing 19 soldiers and injuring a few others. The NIA had taken over the investigation of the case from local police. The two youths were arrested by the BSF and the army in a joint operation at Angoor Post at Gavalata village in Uri when they were allegedly trying to infiltrate into India. The two were brought to the NIA headquarters for interrogation.”

In this context, India’s wire news service, ANI said, “Awan and Khursheed had, during their interrogation, disclosed that they were tasked by Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) commanders to facilitate the infiltration of a group of four JeM cadres who carried out the Uri Army camp attack.” But, ANI quoted an NIA statement of September 27, 2016 as saying “Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed will be sent back as the charges framed against them could not be substantiated.”

However, India’s NIA has decided to file a closure report after failing to find any evidence against two men from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) whom it accused of facilitating the Uri army base attack.

Nevertheless, the true tale of the two students—Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed have further proved India’ arranged drama at the Uri base.
