Ok people, I’m just not getting it. I am a creature of logic and reason. I do not support things or make decisions for “feel-good” reasons, but rather through logical analysis. Beyond knowing the facts and having an understanding of reality, logical analysis also requires a desired endpoint or change in reality. For the life of me, I cannot understand what you folks have as your desired endpoint.

I know you people are not stupid, and I am pretty sure you must have a good grasp of facts and reality, but your actions and behavior cannot logically lead to any reasonable positive endpoint for you and yours, except in the extreme short-term only. Let’s put aside for the moment the shameful tactics of deceit, bullying, and hate/fear/racist speech that you use so effectively, and try to reason out exactly what you are trying to accomplish.

The obvious motivation is the lust for power and wealth. And indeed, in the short-term, transferring as much wealth and money from the middle class to the wealthy and corporate elite will appear to satisfy that lust. But only the most myopic tunnel vision cannot see the impacts of this course of action on America as a whole and into the future beyond next week.

I do not claim to be all-knowing and omnipotent, but it seems pretty clear to me that power comes from wealth, and most wealth comes from, and is maintained by, some kind of business – the selling of goods and services. So, creating tax loopholes and providing subsidies to major industries may provide more profits in the short run, but profits at ANY cost is a self-defeating behavior. Replacing the reduced revenue to the government because of the loopholes and subsidies with cuts in spending for programs and policies that help millions of Americans is NOT a good thing for profits and wealth. The more these programs are cut, the more money these millions have to take out of their own pockets, and the less they have left to spend on goods and services. The success of huge corporations is tied directly to the level of affluence of the average American. The economy runs on consumer spending and jobs are created when demand for products and services increases. More jobs means more affluence, and that means more spending and demand.

The concept of “trickle-down economics” is not only a myth, but a scam to excuse the redistribution of wealth from the middle class and poor to the very wealthy. The lie you tell is that, reducing taxes for the wealthy and big business will create more jobs because business has more money to work with. Instead, reducing affluence in the middle class reduces DEMAND for products and services, and results in LESS jobs, not more. Giving more money to the top may provide some trickle-down, but the word “trickle” is appropriate because most of the money goes directly to profits, savings, and purchases that have minimal impact on the economy. Buying a villa in France or a 2nd yacht does little good for the economy as a whole.

On the other hand, what I call “bubble-up economics,” moving wealth from the top to the middle and the bottom, provides more spending power to those who are most likely to purchase in THIS country and to purchase every-day staples, goods, and services. Those in need will spend more of the additional cash than those at the top. And guess what? This spending will benefit those who are being taxed more in the first place. This is the opposite of a viscous circle. Trickle-down provides a DECREASING impact on the economy as the money trickles down, while money provided to the middle class and poor gets multiplied over and over as it moves up the spending food chain. Thus, a “bubble-up” effect. Redistribution of wealth from the top to the middle and bottom is really a REINVESTMENT of wealth!

So, exactly what is your end game? Is doubling your current worth today really worth it if your businesses and profits go to Hell in a hand basket in the future because the people of America have no money to spend and have to accept a seriously lower standard of living? Don’t forget that, things that become top-heavy tend to topple over time.
