Perry to Visit Fire-Stricken Bastrop, Texas

(And why it is absolutely pointless)

What is absolutely absurd about our “do-nothing” leader coming to Bastrop during the current forest-fire crisis, is that the State of Texas has essentially been on fire since early April, and he really hasn’t done anything about it. Not to say he isn’t going to do anything now, he is making an appearance, that’s doing something right? It’s painfully obvious he is certainly using this as an opportunity for political posturing. I mean he is trying to run for President, as laughable as that is, it’s an unfortunate fact.

I mean here is a guy who is leaving our Great State with tens of billions of dollars in debt. He prides himself on how he maintained “job-growth” in Texas, when in fact, we are fairing no better than most states. The jobs created here, were jobs taken from somewhere else. We didn’t create jobs; we just shuffled some around from other parts of the country. Our unemployment and poverty rates are as high as the next state; this imaginary little fact of his is nothing more than a mere fairy-tale. The economy is suffering everywhere. Let’s not forget, to his credit, he has also successfully made us one of the dumbest states in the Union.

But, what I came to realize through all of these fires and disasters over the last decade, is that the people in the State of Texas are self-reliant, self-sufficient, and can accomplish anything without help from the Federal or State Governments. The only thing Perry was able to accomplish during any disaster was to create wide-spread panic during Hurricanes Rita and Ike. He created more chaos and destruction with his lame-duck evacuation plan, than the hurricanes did themselves.

The people of Texas have remained resilient and have taken care of themselves quite well. We haven’t asked the Feds for money, and we have shown the world that we can come together as a community and battle through anything. We’ve proven it time and again, and we are proving it once again. Perry can go away, in fact they all can, and we would probably be better off. Don’t get me wrong, a little help would be nice, I just don’t doubt that we can handle it if needed. The rest of the country should learn from the people in Texas, nothing says more than “we don’t need you”!

While I was driving to Giddings this afternoon, I noticed we could see the fire from as far North as Manor, Texas (about 50-60 miles away). So we took lots of photos all the way into Giddings, but just after Elgin we saw some of the most alarming sites I have ever seen. At this point we were about 40 miles away, and could see flames! But the most amazing thing we saw, was the fire-trucks from all over the great State of Texas.

They were coming from Dallas, Carrollton, the DFW airport system, Austin, Houston, Conroe, everywhere. These guys are volunteering to risk their lives to come and help. All this without being told to do so by our State or Federal Governments. That's just what Texans do!

This is why we don’t need Perry in our Great State today. He really needs to go about his business of selling the people out, and let his handlers run the show. He needs to focus on failing to run for President and leave already, he hasn’t been here for months anyway!

So why bother showing up in Bastrop Texas now, after all of these years of doing nothing? Well, that’s easy, he’s running for President (possibly the most ignorant one, but President nonetheless). I mean this guy hasn’t made a decision on his own in his entire political life, (all of us in Texas know he doesn’t make decisions), his staffers do. He does what they tell him is the best position for his career, and his party. That’s why he’s coming, because the puppet strings are making him come... Plain and simple.

If he is what the Republicans plan to use to un-seat Obama, they have a long hard road ahead. Every time he opens his mouth, I feel just a little dumber. I mean the entire Republican candidate pool was a joke before, now you have seriously dropped the collective I.Q. of the entire party. Ron Paul is probably their best chance, he just scares the “establishment“ too much. And that’s what I love about him; unfortunately he doesn’t stand a chance for the very same reason.

Rick Perry is the absolute poster-child for “Special-Interests”, that’s where all of his contributions come from, so why wouldn’t he be? Don't go away mad Rick, just go away!
