Keep Your Eyes Fixed On The Poor Player

Shakespeare had a direct line to the wisdom of the Universal Mind. He shared it with us less tuned-in mortals in the gifts of his forever relevant plays. In Macbeth he wrote: “Life's but a walking shadow; a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

Donald Trump is certainly a poor player and he is strutting and fretting as his hour upon the stage winds down. In the long run he will cease to have access to the stage because, as Shakespeare noted, there is a dwindling market for wild and crazy demagogues. Extreme preoccupation with self-promotion and grabbing treasure induces a kind of blindness that inevitably causes an evil genius to suffer isolation and eventual downfall. Power control systems grounded in unopposed dictatorships of any kind, religious, scientific, or corporate, are ultimately doomed to failure as they cut off the flow of relevant information.

Donald is not yet aware of the hook reaching for him from backstage. He is plotting and planning with a few court jesters and a mercenary palace guard to fix things in his favor. He is particularly angry that their attempt to steal the election with their usual manipulation of voting machines fell too short. Evidence of such electronic thievery is well documented by eminent researcher and former Executive Director of the Election Defense Alliance Jonathan Simon in his 2020 book Code Red: Computerized Elections and the War On American Democracy. His recommendation to vote by mail and in great numbers was the key element in Trump’s defeat and a resounding election of the Biden/Harris ticket. The numbers of ballots cast that were subject to remotely manipulated voting machines were simply not enough to turn the tide and steal the election as planned.

Wait: don’t throw your playbills in the lobby trashcan and head for the nearest bar to celebrate.  As baseball great Yogi Berra once said, “If you don't know where you are going, you'll end up someplace else.” This is not the time to let down and relax. Trump and his minions have it in mind to keep things unsettled by legal means and obstruct the Biden/Harris Administration until the next election. In such a chaotic situation they could win control of both Houses of Congress with even more sophisticated manipulation of the voting and machines that they will own and control. In effect, they will keep a knee our necks while the evil genius mixes up another batch of Kool-Aid for his followers to drink. Survival of our democracy demands that we get those extremist-controlled voting machines eliminated from the election process and replaced with trustworthy means like voting by mail and using hand-marked paper ballots available for audits.

Stay informed and be aware. Keep an eye on Fox News and the Sinclair Media outlets. Stay actively committed to working with creative and positive groups like INDIVISIBLE, ACLU, and Common Cause. Smoldering embers of Koch/Trumpism still exist and there is a compelling need to contain and oblige them to observe democratic rules of law. Watch for signals to guys with big guns itching for a fight, like Eric Prince and his battle-ready mercenaries, heavily armed ISIS thugs, and spewers of hate and violence like Ted Nugent, Rush Limbaugh, and the fast-rising new media purveyor of lies and conspiracy justified violence, C J Pearson. STAY ALERT and find out how to join with others in sustained peaceful protests and demonstrations to neutralize attempts to instigate a coup.
