Three Links in the Chain Pulling Down America

UNLIMITED SPENDING ON UNCHECKED DECEIT BY UNREVEALED DONORS

These three links in the chain that the power structure on the Right has been building for decades can spell the end of America as most of us know it (and as the Founding Fathers intended it), including the so-called American Dream.

Republicans are bought and paid for by their wealthy donors (individuals, large corporations, and powerful organizations), and now with the Conservative-stacked US Supreme Court Citizens United decision, these puppet masters can fill even more seats in Congress with their puppet Republicans. Virtually unlimited spending on politics gives virtually unlimited control to the wealthy.

The greatest single threat to America today is the total lack of truth, honesty, and fact-checking in political advertisements, speeches, and reporting. Why are there absolutely no Truth in Advertising regulations applied to political advertising? Why is there no such thing as libel, slander, defamation of character, or other legal remedies available for those harmed by fallacious political advertising and reporting? Right-Wing media and pundits simply lie and deceive without consequence. Mainstream media just covers political statements and speeches without fact-checking or debunking anything. What the Hell are they afraid of? Where is the integrity of the press? Left-wing media is the only outlet for facts and truth, but they are constantly demonized by the lies from the Right.

A voter deceived is a right to vote denied!

Republicans block disclosure laws and organizations like The US Chamber Of Commerce can redirect funds from foreign interests into political campaigns. Not only are the wealthy donors on the Right waging class warfare against the middle class, but they are able to do it without revealing who they are. Not knowing who is paying for a politician’s campaign is not knowing what that politician represents.

If you are a supporter of Republicans, ask yourself which sides of the aisle in Congress are for or against campaign finance reform? Which side thinks that Corporations are the same as people and should have all the same rights (but few of the responsibilities)? Which side recently killed the disclosure act? Is it the Republicans or Democrats who continue to fight for LESS Wall Street regulation after the deregulation-enabled greed caused the great crash of 2008?
