Radical Islam- A Mental Health Problem Without A Cure?

Thursday, 07 April 2016 10:49
The continent of Europe has been swamped with refugees for 18 months or more, most of which are arriving from Syria and Iraq, but also from Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya and other North African nations. It is speculated that terror groups have infiltrated those refugee numbers, bringing their warped version of Islam with them. Yet the warped version of Islam has been present in Europe for a long time, with radical preacher Abu Hamza and his followers spreading hatred in mosques and on the streets of Britain as far back as the early 1990's. Today we have reports of fraudulent passports acquired by refugees/migrants found discarded at E.U border fences, and that ISIS vows to send thousands of jihadis to Europe among the refugees. Have no doubt that the most hardline Islamists want to get more recruits, to keep expanding and multiplying their numbers and to attack European nations allied with America.

What is crime prevention? When Police learn of a gang planning a bank robbery, they will arrest the suspects before the robbery happens... -that is 'crime prevention'. Essentially radical Islamists are one massive, united gang- an army which follow one mission objective, to spread the anti-Christian, anti-western ideology, while some plot and succeed to kill hundreds of innocents such as in Paris 2015 and recently in Brussels, Belgium. The ideology is essentially the work of madmen and dangerous, mentally unstable people who live in civilized society- many have jobs and interact with the public. It has already been proven that radical Islamist 'gangs' have attacked and killed hundreds and thousands across the World- yet authorities can do little but maintain 'surveillance' of suspects until an act of violence has occured. Let's make this clear- terrorists have already carried out the worst acts of violence and murder over the years. What more proof do authorities need to be convinced to arrest radical terror suspects who are just waiting for the opportunity to attack and kill, or who encourage and train others? The jihadi mindset is one that hates and blames western nations and people, and oppose any collaboration of business and unity between western nations and the Middle East nations. Tens of billions of dollars are spent by nations each year to maintain security, money that could improve other nations, but the jihadi ideology is opposed to that investment or change, and they merely want the older, more brutal form of Islam to return and to stamp out any modernization or chances of unity- to the point where they kill whom they perceive to be traitors for wanting to live in a modern, western existance, including Muslims.

Those radicals are sick and dangerous. A diagnosed violent schizophrenic is often locked up for the public safety, yet thousands of radicals interact with the public, are allowed to use the internet, allowed to hold down jobs and to plot and wait for a chance to cause mass murder. It's more than a gang, it's a death cult army, with suspects often identified by authorities yet are allowed to live relatively free within society. It is incredibly difficult to accept that authorities are sitting back, waiting for the next attack, when the public could be far safer if those violent jihadi radicals and followers were just locked away, either in jail or in some sort of institution where they can be assessed and either released after rehabilitation, or incarcerated indefinately. There are thousands of terror suspects under surveillance in London, England, and any number of them could be plotting violent attacks with organized and professional military precision.
(see London Mayor Boris Johnson's statement linked here : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/terrorism-in-the-uk/11154733/Security-services-monitoring-thousands-of-terrorism-suspects-in-London-says-Boris-Johnson.html )

We often learn that a killer who was known to authorities as being mentally unstable was released into the public from jail or mental care, only to hurt or kill again, yet those people are single case problems, not part of a unified movement. You would assume that the attacks on New York, Madrid, London, Paris and Brussels, to name but a few, would teach authorities that radical Islamists are not mentally fit to live among society because they plot or wait for their turn to 'martyr themselves for God' :- if that is not a sign of mental illness and a danger to society, then what actually is the definition of mental illness and danger, we should ask. The known terror networks across the World number fifty or more hardened Islamist groups- most pledge allegiance to each other, and most have killed innocent civilians. (see the list of known terror groups here :- http://www.state.gov/j/ct/rls/other/des/123085.htm )

Yet we still live in a World where 'surveillance' of terrorist suspects seems to be the only power to stop them. Terrorists have an organized and universal militant ambition, often trained in guerilla warfare and have proven their determination to kill innocents. They are effectively an enemy front which has freedom to live in democratic societies, and that is a failure of authorities, who are simply too lenient in the face of such a dangerous threat. It is almost as if civilization is seen as an expendible resource that both authorities and terrorists can play with. It is a 'politically correct' World gone wrong, where human rights groups claim that terror suspects cannot be treated as terrorists just because of their views- and that it is somehow 'discriminate' to question them or imprison them if they haven't actually committed a violent crime, although they are all part of a violent and determined ideology. The truth is nobody knows how many silent jihadis have collaborated to assist in terror attacks. Authorities are often aware that many suspects visit jihadi websites and interact with similar-minded people. Surely prevention should include stopping those surfing jihadi websites and interacting with top level suspects from being free to wander through society ? Many young people could be saved from a life of revenge, yet currently there is no method to 'rehabilitate' those caught up in terrorism- which begs the question- is surveillance of suspects the only protection that authorities can provide?

The old expression is 'better safe than sorry'. If we pussyfoot around political correctness and human rights groups, then the radicals gain the upper hand- and they almost already have done that by rooting themselves within society. With evidence of past attacks in Europe and around the World, surely we can conclude that terror suspects with their dangerous mentality are a threat to society, and that those suspects actually share one 'universal' mindset- a sick, distorted view and violent ideology. It is time to not only see them as 'potential violent suspects' but as part of an active universal violent Islamist army, capable of anything- and already proven to be genuine in their threats and capabilites. It would make sense to remove as many suspects, isolate them from cities and society, and assess them within detention centres- regardless of the critics and human rights groups condemnation. In November of 2015, France lost 130 people to terrorist attacks, a few months later another 32 people were killed in Brussels, Belgium. It is all shaping up to a truly shocking unpredicatable showdown. Terrorists have vowed to continue forever until they have the upper hand, and their numbers could have grown into the thousands in cities around the World.

Just ask yourself, how much longer can the public be placed in such harm's way by terrorists? The danger could be greatly reduced by simply arresting terror suspects and treating them as unpredictable mentally unstable people who are a clear and present danger to societies because they generally plot to attack society. The authorities should really keep those suspects far away from public, because although there might not be evidence of a specific attack being planned, the old saying goes 'where there is smoke there is fire'- and we just cannot keep taking chances allowing terrorist suspects to surf jihadi websites and possibly create a plot of their own or join a terrorist cell. Many Muslims born in Europe went to fight alongside ISIS in the early days of ISIS in Syria and Iraq , and they returned to where they were born, to become dangerous, well-trained guerilla warfare fighters, also allowed into society and under surveillance by authorities - or not yet discovered to have joined terrorist groups.

We often hear that terrorists who have killed innocents were known suspects to authorities, and the families of terror victims could sue authorities in those cases for deliberately placing the public at risk, for allowing terror groups to grow while under surveillance. Hasn't enough 'surveillance' been done to conclude that terror suspects do not belong in society, that they either belong in jail or in some sort of mental institution where they can get help for their sickness? Only a truly massive terrorist attack seems to get that through to people. Society cries out for 'more to be done' to stop future attacks. The truth is, there is no other way than to detain all suspects and isolate them from society until they have been assessed and rehabilitated- and the whole world should come to realize that, because we are all potential victims in future terrorist attacks.

Just as I write I am also observing a report of a huge weapons cache found in Copenhagen, Denmark, with four suspects being arrested- an example of the terrorist's organisational skills to smuggle weapons into cities undetected, with the intention to use those weapons on innocent civilians, Police and even political figures. Nobody is safe while terror suspects are allowed to exist among us, working or claiming social security benefits and plotting their evil attacks on society. Society has rejected them, yet authorities have not removed the suspects- we wake each day wondering what more can be done to eliminate the terror threat.
