May it not be said about us that:

First they came for the terrorists, you know, Muslims, and most didn’t say anything because we definitely weren’t them and they weren’t really us, and, of course, someone attacked us because they hated our freedom.

Then they came for our privacy, and most didn’t say anything, except a disclaimer at the bottom of emails, because we had nothing to hide.

Then they came for our bodily dignity and most went through the scanner because we wanted to fly, and definitely didn’t want groped by those icky blue gloves.

Then they came for our due process and a jury trial of our peers, and most said nothing because the President and Congress said they wouldn’t dare use our military to indefinitely detain us, unless they first insinuated that we were potential terrorists, or potentially talked to terrorists, or supported a group that supported the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and associated forces, whatever that may mean into the indefinite future, and if said military indefinite detention did happen to happen, it wouldn’t be in the Homeland, and would only be “without trial until the end of hostilities” which are ongoing indefinitely or another half century or so, and, until further notice from some future President, Congress or FEMA regional manager, this clear legal procedure is in place, unless one might be engaged in hostile youtubes, podcasts and emails while not in the Homeland, in which case, your case and your teenage son’s noncase will be sent to the Executive to be decided by a jury of Reapers, Predators, Hellfires or other such peers, and, it’s generally understood that the only persons with defacto immunity from all of this are those that really, at the highest levels, “planned, authorized, committed, or aided” the 9/11 attacks, or “harbored those responsible.”

Then they came for semi-autos and many vocalized their bandwagon agreement because it was the only way to keep the children safe from patsies and/or non-existent multiple gunmen and, plus, as we well know, only the Corporate Security State could be trusted with weapons of combat.

So, when they were finally able to come for our speech and belief, no one much was left who believed they had much of any right or reason to say much of anything.

May that we not end it so.
