but for the stories of women....we keep the memories and the recordswe sing our mother's songs to our granchildrenwe wail our sorrows in ancient harmonieswe sob,and weep with anguish when we lose a childall of us, no matter where, even if we believe his spirit flies homewe are shattered, our human heart is brokenmy heart is not my heart!!i gave it awayto a little girl that finally atethe food from my hand, grabbed my fingerand livedand the hundreds of women that prepared food with me in the campsas their villages burnedand the smoke was stillin our eyesweeping with onionsand the dust of our loved ones in our lungsour tears salted the aubergineroastingto the courage and tenacity of my peoplemy people that live in every face i treatevery hand i take in mineto every need i was able to meeti gave my heartand felt the pulsefusionwho's heart do i feel?if my heart is your heart then i will feel youyouare mine as breathas it disolvesi shatter againwhen your children run into my armswhen we cover their faceswhen i am called awaywhen i long to be neari will never forgetwhy we find each other hereto know the depth and powerof love like thisthen shatter me againand spill my blood with yoursthat we will be mothersagainst violenceand tell our stories andwrite our herstoryand feed our childrenlife rather than greedkindness rather than crueltyrespect rather than discriminationforgiveness rather than revengeinspiration rather than dogmaknowledge rather than marketed propagandasocial consciousness rather than racismHuman Rights rather than capitalism & politics [as we know them]the Joy of Generositywhen our smiles greeteyes rememberi am yoursrespect.
