Monsanto Seed

Is Monsanto an enemy of agriculture? Or are they just simply racing competitively to help farmers keep up with the consumption demands of the consumer on this planet?

I know almost little about agriculture. I go by what see, hear, and read, then try to piece it all together with common sense.

I remember when farmers had competitive problems with their neighbors like bumper-crop prices, how much herbicides and pesticides blew onto other farm properties, water rights, etc., all before government persuasion, like; tax incentives for not growing too much, new farm machinery incentives, use this chemical, use this seed, and so on.

Go to the heart-land 8am at a breakfast restaurant where over-weight small farm owners hang-out and listen to how they talk about farm subsidies. Mostly about how much for growing little, and crop rotation. The last time I sat at one of those restaurants was before corn ethynol was mandatorily blended with automotive petrolium fuel.

I've been hearing about soil nutrient depletion. So why are we growing crops to burn in our cars? The bi-product of corn ethynol is like dead corn-meal. It has no nutritional value at all. A lot of it is shipped to China for food.

Used cooking oil is more expensive to process into bio-diesel fuel compared to processing fresh ready to cook-with soy bean oil. More and more fresh soy-oil is being processed for fuel. New soy-bean oil processed into fuel is still called 'bio-diesel'.

We need to grow fresh nutritional fuel with the soil of this planet for our bodies, not our machines. There is plenty of petrolium for our machines. We have to over-come the political quagmires and hypocrisy of it all.

If new finding of mass sweet-crude petrolium in North America is true we still need to push forward for less polluting ways of burning it and pursue alternative fuels responsibly. Consumer responsibility. The consumer has the most power on this planet, individually and collectively.

I am hungry for knowledge on the subjects of alternate fuel, healthy food, and environment issues. I can't tolerate hypocrisy, it seems to be everywhere with those subjects, on all sides.
