A Bittersweet Prophecy: The Revolution

On Friday, October 3, 2008, I blogged the below article about the Wall Street bailout on my site "Another World is Possible."

Now, in the face of all that has occurred since, and in the face of the burgeoning non-violent Occupy America movement, it is a bittersweet prophecy of sorts, but it appears there is a group mind at work...at last. And we must not give up! Read on:

THE HOUSE CAVES...BAILOUT PASSES!

....and thus, because of this phony-baloney "bailout," WE, THE PEOPLE will crash hard, if we do not act NOW!

I read a great article recently that questioned whether it's time for a "violent revolution." The article didn't condone the violence, as I do not, but it did condone the revolution, as I do, too. Violence is never the answer; but sometimes, revolution is the only way for change to happen and stick.

Here's what I think:

It's time for "a Revolution 21st-century style."

But instead of just talking online, let's act both off- and on-line, let's show our complete disregard for the criminals who are bringing down the US: withdraw ALL of your money from any financial source linked to the US who is part of the "big bank system."

Then, why not start a shadow government that functions in place of our corrupt and limping corporate US government?

Why not actually begin an online trial of the Bush/Cheney/Republican regime, claiming a "death in absentia" of this faction of the US government, and ordering them to stand trial? This is a major class action suit by the American public, indicting these criminals for MAJOR crimes against the Constitution that are worthy not merely of impeachment, but of imprisonment.

Anything short of this is moot. Too many of us have been talking about doing just this for way, way too long. It's now time to act like conscientious citizens and stop the criminality.

Their acts have truly been a "genocide" of the worst kind: the death of a nation, a Constitution, a people.

It's just not easy to get there. But as Gandhi said, "The way of truth and love always wins...think of it...always!" NOW we must put the truth into nonviolent action to overthrow unjust laws and government, hard or not.

Some of us will suffer mightily in the days (and years) to come, but NOW is all we have, and we must act with dignity and honesty and peacefulness, no matter what, to rid our World of this criminality and start anew.

Another World IS Possible.

This and more have come to pass since that October day three short years ago when I wrote the article above, much is sad, but most is bittersweet, as there is hope that change will come as a result of all our efforts to right the wrongs perpetrated by the few against the many. And this is good.

IndictBush.org is working hard to hold the Bush administration accountable for their criminal actions. And this is good.

People are risking their lives to peacefully wage a revolution against unjust laws by marching in the streets and standing up to the thuggery of police around the world. And this is good.

A new journalism has arisen to take the place of the corrupt "mainstream" media. It is the voice of the people, it is articulate, and it is loud and clear. And this is good.

The Revolution HAS begun. I do not see an end in sight. And this is good.

This is a righteous moment in history. This is the only way to truth and love, truth about all things, and love and respect for all who put people ahead of profits at any cost to their safety, but at ALL rewards to our freedom and right to live well and honestly in the world.

Onward!
