Sometimes I think that President Obama has decided that he does not want to be the leader of the “free” world anymore. He's actively bargaining away Medicare right now, he won't punish the bankster-speculators who destroyed and continue to destroy the economy and he won't reinstate our Civil Rights! There's a not to like here but he's still FAR better than the other guys but his behavior reminds me that better is not the same as good. Why is this man bringing the G-8 and NATO, two definite disasters, right here to Chicago, his home city in an election year? It leaves me with one question... has the President become the frick-frackin' village idiot?

I ask because it takes a special kind of stupid to be waging losing wars while picking new just as endless fights and then invite your partners in a pointless money-stealing black hole to town! But to trump that by not holding the economic gangsters who ruined our economy accountable while inviting their protectors to town would make him too damn stupid to be able to remember to breathe! And yet he's doing it!

The G8 and NATO is going to be right here in Chicago. These two incredibly bad ideas have the smell of chaos and comedy all over them. That a sitting President would be so damn stupid as to have NATO show up in his home town when he is waging at least two failed occupations, Iraq and Afghanistan and a string of lousy illegal wars and actions in Pakistan, Yemen and Libya... Yeah, what you want with all that is NATO, a focal point of rage for the entire anti-war movement, to be right here in your town. Then, as stupid as that sounds he tops that by a factor of say... a billion, he invites the G-8 here. Am I to understand that the same governments that made it possible and continue to make it possible for a band of international corporate criminals to steal our combined wealth are coming to Chicago under Mayor Emanuel?

Does the President realize what the hell he's doing? Is he this F*&#ing dumb? He can't be can he? Is he not aware of the kinds of pictures this is going to generate when Rahm has the streets swept to keep these meetings “safe” from scrutiny? There will be security cordons. There will be preemptive raids and arrests. Homeless people will be swept off the streets around the areas. All manner of riot police and detention centers will be set up. I'm one of the folks who might end up in one of those damn places! Doesn't this man get that this is going to be a god-awful mess that might make him consider doing something else for the next four years?

I am sure the endless pictures of tear gas, guys in ninja turtle suits beating people with sticks and the like will make him look like a real civil libertarian. Does he not want to win? Is our President committed to playing the Washington Generals every time he gets the chance? I used to think this man was playing chess instead of checkers but almost three years of watching him at work just makes me think he's playing two hand touch above the waist and the other side is playing full contact, ass-kicking, smash-mouth football. NATO and the G-8 during an election year... I'm starting to think he works for the damn Koch brothers!
