In the beginning there was darkness and the formless ocean of chaos. And God said let there be light, not rape, theft and murder.  We, as humans, are so off course that an evolutionary disaster is inevitable. Not Covid-19. That was man-made, and it will fade away. Alas, man’s destruction may be of its own doing.
Around 12,000 years ago glacial conditions hit the reset button. The demise of Atlantis, possibly? When man gets too big for his britches, is that when God decides to hit the reset button? Were the ovens in Nazi Germany filled with human beings not enough? Are children with Leukemia just to keep us humble? Well, it’s not working. Psychopaths and mass-murderers have been around throughout all of our history. This is not a debate if God exists. Everything started from something, if so, what was before God? You cannot get anything but nothing from nothing. From the words of St. Augustine, “Who made these beautiful changing things, if not one who is beautiful and changeth not?

The Mayans had ritual offerings of nourishment to the gods, a culture of death-worship. They did not receive an answer, only blood was shed and lives taken. Rather, a culture of death-worship. Nowadays we have Democrats and abortion clinics. Not as tribute to the gods, but as answers to mistakes and unwanted burdens. What does that say for our society, freedom of choice? Who’s choice? Not the unborn, choice they have none.

The evidential problem of evil has been pondered plenty. Who is to say God did not get in over his head with his creation?  Evil, may have been an undesired biproduct of creation. But this life is one of opposites, like Plato said. If that is the case, was God unsure? If that, than God is not wholly good.
If we were made in his image, was it an image of desperation and violence? Which is what we see now in the year of our Lord, twenty thousand and twenty.

I still have breath in me. As the serpent bites and latches on between my shoulders, I ponder that too.
By ignoring our need for a more sensible way of living, war and greed have won. Can you trust the Pope?  It wasn’t my calling to be a priest, but I could’ve tried. But that’s it, you don’t just try something like that, you commit. Is it man’s duty to commit to god? What god? Were we not made from star dust? It is my belief that we are all a piece of that one god. As dysfunctional as we are, we may need to work ourselves back to oneness. Occam’s razor works here unless you are an atheist of course.

There is no need to muddy the waters with an argument. It will be what it is at the end. The rest should be of little concern. What we face is a real existential threat, man’s future. Is it the blind leading the blind? Surely there are evil forces out there. Do we have enough heroes to spare? I surely hope so. The evil knows no bounds.

The sanctity of life must come across stronger to us as a race. Are we a race of sociopaths? Maybe that is the real question here? A sociopath according to definition; person with a psychopathic personality whose behavior is antisocial, often criminal, and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience. Sounds about right. I have yet to been proven wrong. Power corrupts. Where does that desire to conquer, and control come from? Were we not made in his image? What if that image was one of desperation and violence?

Vaya con dios,
