Free Bradley Manning--Sign White House Petition

I've written a petition on whitehouse.gov to free bradley manning. If you think it's an important issue, could you pass it along to everyone on your email list--

Bradley Manning has now spent close to three years in jail. in solitary confinement, a torture i can tell you from my own fifteen years of isolation caused by illness, is a torture so profound there are no words for the pains. Manning has been driven suicidal. that's enough punishment. it's time to let him go.

The fact that there were 630,000 government documents kept from your eyes and mine is obscene. it is time to put our secrecy policies on trial. the manufacturers of secrecy should be in the dock right now explaining themselves. and, i suspect, they should be appalled at what they have done: three trillion dollars worth of military failure in Iraq and Afghanistan.
