Trump Knows the Women in White Are Coming for Him

By Michael Moore, Michael Moore's Facebook Page

07 January 19

ast night, The Women in White — what must Trump have thought when he saw this unstoppable sight? He saw his future. His near future. They are coming for him. The White Walkers. He tried to avert his eyes over to the sea of cheering white men on his left, but it was useless. Hopeless. No amount of Tic Tacs would save him now. A fitting celebration for the upcoming 100th anniversary of women fighting for and winning the Right to Vote.

A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

There hasn't been enough said about women wearing white to celebrate the centennial of the fight for the right of women to vote. Hillary Clinton wore a white pantsuit to the DNC when she accepted her nomination for president. Donald Trump had no clue when he looked out at that sea of white pantsuits worn by the congresswomen. Fortunately, he'll get that clue on Election Day in 2020 as we vote to expel him from office.

Seeing the women-in-white the other night in the House chamber with AOC in the front center was a cheerful and cheering sight. I sure hope that these women and others like them raise some holy hell in Congress. This old institution could use a thorough shake-up.

I had not known that the suffragists wore white. You learn something every day!
I still don't know what Tic Tacs are doing in this story.

The tictacs are there because Trump famously said when he said “you can do anything if you’re a celebrity, you can grab em by the pussy”. He also said he liked to force his kisses on unsuspecting women which is why he always carried tictacs to freshen his hamburger breath.

As A-O-C might say, the women in white will run you train Mr. Trump. Caveat

Hillary wore a white pantsuit when she accepted her nomination? You mean the one she stole from Bernie??

The 2018 election was too a great extent a powerful example of “Pussy Grabbing Back” the career criminal in the Oval the Griffter in Chief is incompetent and drunk on his own cool aid. He believes his own lies and false mythology of his overblown “success” story.

The women of America are not passive victims of sexual predators like our pathetic man-child The Swamp Creature himself.

A woman’s place is everywhere.

...& not long after the ladies in white come for Trump, the little men in white uniforms wth big nets should come to take him away.

I don't think Moore watched the speech. Trump clearly saw all of the women in congress and he made comments that were positive and favorable directly to them. For example,

"No one has benefitted more from our thriving economy than women, who have filled 58 percent of the new jobs created in the last year.
All Americans can be proud that we have more women in the workforce than ever before — and exactly one century after Congress passed the Constitutional Amendment giving women the right to vote, we also have more women serving in Congress than ever before.
As part of our commitment to improving opportunity for women everywhere, this Thursday we are launching the first ever government-wide initiative focused on economic empowerment for women in developing countries."

The women and white stood up and cheered when he said this. Pelosi did as well. My impression is that Trump was trying to make an offer to work with them.

Of course, he idiotically disparaged socialism which some of them endorse. But that is politics. Trump is coming from a radical capitalist perspective and they are coming from a socialist perspective. Pelosi is with Trump on the capitalism side.

What Moore is really doing here is forcing the new and progressive democrats in line behind the right-wing leadership of Pelosi. He's demanding that they give up their democratic socialist vision and join the anti-Trump Zombie march to defeat in 2020.

You accuse Moore of getting it wrong - and then go on to show you have no idea of what happened.

The women in white - Trump’ worst nightmare - started laughing and then cheering & high-fiving after Trump said “we...have more women serving in Congress than ever before.”

Trump’ glazed look made clear he never understood the reason for the commotion. And neither do you.

HP -- I think it is more than that. Some of the new members of congress were invited by Trump to meet with him in the white house during the shut down. Pelosi ordered them not to go. They all stayed away. But Trump invited them again and some went. Seven of them went.

Trump is trying to work around Pelosi who is showing herself to be a stone. You can't blame Trump for doing this. Any president would.

The younger congressional democrats want to get things done. They have no interest in the Washington gridlock. They don't see Pelosi as the leader of the future.

AOC was on the Colbert show expressing her frustration with the democratic leadership that has told newcomers like her to do nothing while the standoff with Trump is in progress. She can't hire staff, get equipment, or talk about any of her ideas. Pelosi is setting the pace. Everything has to go through her. Some of the younger women want to break out of the Pelosi's vice-grip. Trump is making overtures to them. You can't blame him for that. It is good politics. None of the new democratic members of congress will be swayed by his bad ideas. But they will talk with him about the issues.

Are you serious saying that the Women in White are ready and willing to listen to Trump’s good ideas? Who is going to convince them that Trump has “good ideas”? What are they? Kidnapping of babies? A state of emergency relying on the military? Taking money from FEMA to build the Great Wall of America”? Cease enforcing EPA regulations? Cozying up to Saudi Arabia? Repeal Roe? His attacks on Obamacare?
Can you offer a single program the Women in White can accept? There may be one or two, but I can’t think of a single one.
Their response came in Tuesday when they - and Pelosi - mocked Trump.

I think the real issue here is mentioned in the Colbert show. "Some of the younger women want to break out of the Pelosi`s vice-grip." As rodion r. says above, "They don`t see Pelosi as the leader of the future." Are you listening Bernie? I hope that he and others are.
