usan Collins just had the best fundraising quarter of her career, hauling in a record $1.8 million in the final stretch of last year. Why the big haul? Donations flooded in after Collins voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. More than $250,000 came from super PACs alone. By comparison, she raised just $140,000 total in the quarter before the vote.
It's no surprise that the GOP's wealthy donors have rewarded Collins for her vote. Throughout Kavanaugh's career on the bench he has consistently sided with corporate interests at the expense of the American people. We must stop this corporate buyout of our democracy.
