ouse Speaker Paul Ryan rushed to the White House this afternoon to tell Trump he didn’t have the votes to pass legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
If Ryan pulls the bill, it’s a major humiliation for Trump, who told Ryan he wanted a vote today. If Ryan holds the vote today and loses, it’s also a major humiliation for Trump. Trump won’t deliver on his first and biggest legislative promise.
Trump is now the worst possible thing he can be, in his own eyes: A loser.
