And Now, the Revolution

nd now, the revolution. We're all back home from last weekend's marches and - BOOM! - the movement has been ignited! I've heard from thousands of you in the past few days -- and you just haven't stopped:

  • Hundreds of you from Salt Lake City flew back home Sunday from DC and on Monday morning joined with thousands of other Utahans to peacefully storm your State Capitol on the first day on its legislative session. Wow!

  • On Tuesday, thousands who were at one of the Women"s Marches showed up for #ResistTrumpTuesdays around the country by peacefully invading their members of Congress' local office.

  • On Wednesday, upon hearing Trump's pronouncement that he was going after hard-working immigrants in this country, thousands took to the streets from New York to LA in numbers that surprised local law enforcement (many of whom joined in by saying they would refuse to arrest so-called "illegals").

Today there were teach-ins all over the U.S. As Trump has signed one disgusting executive order after another, the shock and anger has only grown. He is our lead organizer -- and with every stroke of the pen, every mentally deranged comment made, every tweet the twit sends, our numbers grow into the tens of millions. He will not be able to govern a nation that will increasingly reject him out of hand. Do not despair, good friends, the great unraveling has already begun. It may take a while, and it will definitely take a lot of work on each of our parts, but we will win out in the end.

And thank you for helping me jam the Congressional switchboard all week! Oh, yeah! What's that number? 202-225-3121!!!! Senators and House members all report near-record numbers of calls. It has major impact. Even if you can't through -- just the act of helping overload the phone lines sends a strong message that the constituents are upset. Let's keep dailing that number! Thank you!

Later today I'll post some small, easy, specific things you can do this weekend to keep the resistance going.

Finally, take one more look at the photos from last week's march - stunning, breathtaking, historic: http://www.nytimes.com/…/21/world/womens-march-pictures.html
