Excerpt: "When it comes to Koch's carcinogenic pollution and carbon emissions, the purpose of Koch's political giving is to avoid any financial responsibility - no matter who gets hurt. Koch Industries has cornered the market in monetizing some of the most dirty industrial businesses."

A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

Acid rain is a myth??

If you believe that, here's another one for you:
"'American's for Prosperity' will work to enhance the prosperity of Americans other than the Koch brothers."

People like the Koch's are slowly (more rapidly, now) taking over and affecting our lives. They need to be controlled. But, they are so powerful, how can we control them?
Start small. First talk about them and their impact on us and our children. Bring it up to everyone you speak with.
Second, boycott some of their products. Here's some you don't need that can get you started. Sparkle. Brawny. Northern. And Dixie. Tell everyone to use something else. I know it's small and we all like remedies that act right away, but they have been coming after us for a long time. We need to be in the fight for as long as it takes. On Wisconsin! Viva Buckeyes, Hoosiers and everyone else that is fighting back.

The problem with boycotts, as the corporations and wealthy know, is that workers end up suffering and losing jobs. When folks wanted to boycott gas, that was the first objection: the workers in the stations would suffer, not the gas companies. Whoever works to make the products you listed will lose jobs if there is a huge boycott.

The Kochs, as the military, already know it, Catch 22.

He gave to MIT one hundred million for a cancer research center as he has prostate cancer. Maybe better put that money into cleaning up his operation which treats the atmosphere as a sewer.

I'm sure that Koch brother will go to his grave denying that his industries cause any illness by poisoning the air, ground and rivers. Faith is belief despite evidence to the contrary. His faith is money and nothing beyond it.

Anybody know where one could find a list of what products the Koch Brothers sell to the public they seem to have such contempt for?

Just look up Koch Industries online. I did. It's scary.

About the only way these racketeers could be stopped would be to overthrow the government they own. Let's face it, corporate law exists for the sole purpose of allowing crooks like the Koch boys, not to mention the bankster thieves and other captains of industry to defraud, poison and outright kill people for profit. Ever wonder what would happen if these bastards weren't shielded by the protections the political toadies they own wrote into law on their behalf?

This country is going to hell on a handcart at the hands of the EVIL bought-out Republicans! Bush ruined everything he touched. The horrid Republican's obstructionism added greatly to a slower recovery, thereby causing countless thousands of family's houses to be foreclosed on, countless thousands of lost jobs and countless thousands of ruined lives... ALL FOR THEIR HORRID POLITICAL GAMES AND POWER PLAY! I'm deeply hoping that Walker's inane tactic will backfire on his whole party and draw the needed attention to their abject failure to heed their constituents interests and provide stewardship to this country like the Democrats have done for decades. If there is a party working tirelessly for the average American citizen, it is the Democrats! They have always supported worker's rights, healthcare for all and fairness and equality across the board. THINK about our future and VOTE accordingly! Save America by recalling or impeaching these bought-out, plutocratic minions of corporate culture and vote in the hard-working, stewards of American virtue and citizen's rights... the Democrats. If you have been a Republican, bolt that horrid mess of a party that is nothing like what it used to be, and join this "Second American Revolution" to reclaim America from the dregs "Dubya" left us in! DON'T LET YOUR CHILDREN GROW UP TO BECOME REPUBLICANS!

Glen. The terrible fact is that people get hurt in wars. But, if the war (the lives of you and your family) isn't worth the risk of personal sacrifice, then don't complain. I'm willing and it looks as though others are willing to stand up. Are you? Or, are you comfortable with what is being done to you and yours? Look at all of the people that suffered to bring you the standard of living you have. They were willing. Who else will speak up?

+2 # Glen 2011-03-06 13:56
I am not in any way looking to have a war in this country. Insisting that folks buck up and get used to the idea is rather cavalier, don't you think? I'm NOT willing to watch the suffering that can come as a result of internal war. Ask any soldier if he reveled in the shooting and killing. Want to see your children blown up?

I'd be more than willing to fight, but you can pretty much be sure, should it come to weapons, we would lose. Your suggestions of subversion and economic tactics should be the first step - anything to avoid out and out war. Anything.

Oh, and when was I complaining? We're here to share ideas and facts, not insults.

m. Start small. Help reduce the profits of a few Koch companies at a time. Brawny. Sparkle. Northern. Dixie. You don't need those products. Also, remove and encourage others to remove their money from BofA. Put it in credit unions.
Small actions, I know, but soldiers are issued individual rounds with which to fight. Individual rounds fired by many can win a battle. Remember that. Everything we do counts. Every decision that you make to fight these criminals, helps and you can be proud. If you stand up and let everyone know where you stand, regardless of what some may say, you will strike a blow for your children and your children's children, that they can also be proud.
