"The worst of times for politics and media has been the best of times for The Daily Show's host - and unfortunately things are getting even funnier."

A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

They are very bright, very funny and very progressive. But where are the "dames"?

The word "tragicomedy" keeps popping into my mind when I think of Jon's show in relation to the current state of the nation.

The Daily Show is doing more for Democracy than all the rest of the media combined. People in this country need this sort of ushered "critical" look at the news. Americans have been dumbed down, have lost the ability to think critically and dig truths out of the rediculous angles reported by our 'News' media.

The media-political complex isn't funny anymore; it's feeding on its own cancer and crapping its virus-laden waste into America's brainhole. Stewart (& Colbert) are a healthy dose of needed chemotherapy. Unfortunately, it's probably too little, too late. The patient appears to have already gone terminal.

Thank God for Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert! For ten nightmare years of Republican crimes, they have allowed us the life-saving relief of laughter. And they make one thing clear. Though the Republicans have no sense of humor, they sure are funny to watch.
