Trillin writes: "The evening being unseasonably mild, the opening reception of the G-8 summit was being held on the hotel's terrace, overlooking the Mediterranean. As President Mitt Romney entered, he was greeted by Stephen Harper, the Prime Minister of Canada..."

A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

The Mitt part COULD HAPPEN if idiots in USA vote against their own best interests.

Vote Dem Vote Obama - Get all minorities in your district registered. Go door to door or the Markets to get them registered as DEMOCRATS - especially those who will get deported even if they are American Citizens - thanks to the RATS ( Roberts Aliota Thomas Scalia)

Think that isn't just funny; it may be the truth. He's going to need constant monitoring if he's elected; constant!

Maybe Mitt took the G W. Bush mail order course in Rhetorical Eloquence?

But I'm afraid they CAN get fooled again...

"Mitt pleasure", smiled Merkel. "I would have put him in a head-lock if he had one."

He makes Bob Dole exciting, George W. Bush glib, Dick Cheney warm and cuddly. The biggest mystery about Mitt is where on his body they've located the on/off switch.

For the first time in my long life, I will take pride in not listening to one word a presidential candidate says at any venue, under any circumstance, between now and election day, with the notable exception of any debate with Obama, where I fully expect the current president to wipe the floor with Willard. Then, I trust he'll just fade away.

My prediction is that Obama will win the election by a landslide and Mitt will only be the subject of a few footnotes in history books.

I'm surprised they don't call him Myth Romney (and Iran Paul, for that matter).
