Coleen Rowley begins: "Who has not yet awoken to the fact that we have been sailing since the 9/11 attacks into a perfect storm? Here are just some of the turbulent winds blowing and pushing officials in the wrong direction."

A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

WOW! A trenchant essay from an individual who has seen the inside and the outside. Thank you for the truth you bear, thank you for pointing out the contradictions in our so-called "democratic" governance.

I often thought it was a stretch to think that 9/11 was an inside job, not discounting it entirely, but not convinced either. The piece here highlighted, "9/11; What If?" is a scary revelation into the machinations of those in power in the US. Why also were over 100 members of the Bin Laden family close by, to leave the next week, even though the airports were closed down? The 9/11 Commission smacked of tokenism, and looks even more insubstantial today.

Good article, and Colleen Rowley is of course completely correct about her conclusions, in addition to her recommendations for correcting civil liberty(ies) abuses. The problem is, as I think she probably knows very well, it is extremely unlikely that ANY such recommendations will EVER be implemented; because, as Dahr Jamail has so correctly said, "We already live in a police state". It is very clear now that recommendations just won't cut it. And, even if Obama were to appoint oversight commissioners to the PCLOB, they would very likely be tasked with covering things up rather than assuring that civil liberties are protected.

Besides, other than these "recommendation s" that serve to salve her conscience well, what has Colleen Rowley done since her whistleblowing to truly seek to save this republic from the totalitarian police state that it is being turned into today? Probably nothing, or very little. Is she willing to take up arms against the totally tyrannical and despotic takeover of our country that is occurring right now, like the colonists did against British despotism and tyranny during the American War for Independence, in order to truly restore control of the U.S. government to "We, the People"? This is also extremely unlikely.
