This isn't about unions - although they'd like you to think it is. This is about Wall Street power and greed. They took your state's monies in an investment scheme that so closely resembles a Ponzi - that it likely is one. Union, gov't, corporate workers now have to be concerned that there are no more pension and retirement funds if their custodians invested in these Wall Street securities.
Any monies invested after 2006 should be investigated - because the crash was under way by 2007 and investments would be wasted trying to prop up the banks.

Thank you President Obama for your support for the working people in Wisconsin. Scott Walker is lying through his teeth when he says that this attack on unions is necessary. He just gave millions of dollars in tax breaks to corporations and now he poor-mouths about how broke Wisconsin is? This is a contrived situation. He is a Republican agent for elitist corporations, and he is determined to destroy the middle class in Wisconsin. Its so good to see the people rise up against this tyranny. Bravo!!

Well it is about time Mr. Obama but as usual you did so with one hand tied behind you. If you really care about the people of Wisconsin then GO there and stand with the People!
I call upon you sir and any Democrat with any guts, if there are any left, to go and stand with the People. Speak for those of us who cannot be there physically, and I call upon RSN to exert any influence it has with Progressives in the House such as Mr. Weiner and Senate such as Mr. Sanders to demand that they go there. Make no mistake about it our Republic and the civil rights of our citizens are at stake. This is not politics this is an attack upon the working people and the poor and the student and the elderly of this country and upon everyone and everything that is not corporate!

It is so misleading to say that this is about money and the budget. It is really about breaking the unions! Why else would you pass a bill to end their collective bargaining abilities? You anti union people have no idea what the labor movement has done for you and for this country! Shame on you!

Expose the state's bad securities investments and it'll explain the attack... maybe that was part of an overall plan?

FULTON COUNTY EMPLOYEES’RETIR EMENT SYSTEM v. MGIC for starters.

Genierae, said it right! Imagine how fast these Wisconsin demonstrations would have been squashed if we had a Republican President, and the double talk we would have heard to rationalize it.

(See "Principals of Newspeak" in George Orwell's "1984" for a great explanation of current Republican rhetoric)

Why doesn't somebody stand up and tell the gov't workers that the state made bad securities investments? FULTON COUNTY EMPLOYEES’RETIR EMENT SYSTEM v. MGIC for starters. Wake up America and realize that almost every state did the same thing and Wall Street walked off with your retirement, 401k, pension funds and the land with your homes.

Virginia: Why not contact John Nichols or Russ Feingold? They are in a position to get the word out about the bad investments. Truth should be our weapon of choice, it will shine a much needed light on these dark doings.

I never thought I'd see the day when workers in the US would have a voice!!! Keep up the god work..If you want your jobs to come back look no further than the so called great American company of Walmart..They alone are responsible for thousands of lost jobs to China...The same China that will challenge the US for energy, food and many natural resouces that will leave higher prices for everyone...Unio ns may be the only people who stand up to the corporations who only care about profit not about people...Everyo ne deserves a decent retirement, good health care and education. WHO else will hold Government accountable to the people?? There's no good reason to pay a CEO 300 times the average salary OR for corporations to get tax breaks that are used to build factories in third world countries...pay a little more to read "Made In the USA".........
