A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

Only a picture appears on my monitor. Bush's mission of the article not being released, accomplished!

Click on the title of the article, "New NSA docs contradict 9/11 claims" and the actual story will appear.

Watch the documentary LOOSE CHANGE. 911 was the Pearl Harbor that opened Bush and Chaney's Pandora's Box. As Chaney said " The world will never be the same. And as Biden said : Chaney was the most dangerous Vice President in our history.

Neither Cheney nor Bush, nor the rest of the gang, could have operated alone: it took a large village of fascists to pull this off, and a compliant populace and perverted, vicious, imperialist culture as well.

You know all this terrible pollution of air and water, and exploitation of workers to virtual slavery, and the rest of the horrors people in the US are complaining about as they are reduced to abused peasants? The fascists have been doing this to other countries for decades. And people did not know or did not care. The oligarchy is now colonizing the US. This is blowback like the CIA never even dreamed of -- some call it payback or karma.

you left out Congress and all of it's sand breathing oversight committees...le ssee who we got on the Intel Committee? Who we got on Appropriations? Who we got on Oversight on National Security? Who we got on ANY of these "we can't inform WETHEPEOPLE because it's national security" committees?

Just negligence at it's most profound...

I'll check that one out. After I watched "Zeitgeist", I was never the same.

President George W. Bush later claimed on TWO occasions to have seen the picture of the first plane hitting the World Trade Center North Tower live on television from Florida. Video of this collision was not available on public media until the next day, so if Mr. Bush was not a liar, or was not terribly confused, or was not just plain stupid, he must have arranged to have a video camera directed at the North Tower in anticipation of some noteworthy event of which he had foreknowledge.

If you feel like conspiracy theory, no need to imagine cameras, just go on youtube and search for "WTC7 Larry Silverstein".
That should tell you all you need to know.

It appears to be impossible to read this report. Like inthesky said, I also get only the picture, then a blank screen down to the comments section. I tried by going direct to RSN and to the Salon site -- same story. And we think the internet is not being censored?
This is beyond outrageous!

I'm guessing it's a glitch -- I can still see it at
+17 # mstrdig 2012-06-22 09:10
what is patently obvious is that the "war on terror," has made a small group of people a lot of cash, and curtailed our liberties. it seems that could be a designated driven agenda.

Finally, I have the text of the article up. Had previously tried getting it direct from RSN site and then direct from the Salon site. It did open from there but immediately froze my computer and eventually required a shutdown and restart to clear out. Maybe it was a just a glitch but it sure seems strange...

The text of the piece definitely is damning to bushco, confirming what many of us have always felt: they either KNEW or SUSPECTED such an attack was coming and actually chose to ignore the info they had in favor of going to war in the Middle East. They allowed 3000 American deaths on 9/11 and countless hundreds of thousands more, both Americans and innocent civilians of both Afghanistan and Iraq, just to enrich themselves and their war machine cronies.

Such vile (or reordered, 'evil') actions will not go without retribution. Perhaps not in this lifetime, but there is blood on their hands and darkness in their souls, and karma WILL take care of them whether or not they are ever prosecuted for their crimes against humanity in this life.

The lesser told story is of the NSA analysts who tried futilly to get NSA management to allow them to put out a series of reports warning that certain Muslims within the country were apparently taking flying lessons around the country, but never landing lessons as you would expect them to continue, plus other tell-tale facts. Instead, NSA analysts were threatened and even fired for attempting to do their jobs. One analyst who was a super polyglot (he spoke 14 different languages and dialects) kept attempting to defend his proof. Security sent him to Security Psychological services (quite different from the real psychological services offered at their med center). A Security
psychologist threatened him that if he did not shut up aboutvthe threat, that they would write him up as "paranoid and delusional", which is NSA's way of circumventing the "No Fear Act" which garantees that whistle blowers will not be frivolously fired in retaliation for doing the right thing. He did not relent, so they wrote up bogus reports to deny him his clearance based on a non-existent mental illness and fired him because you can't work there without a clearance. They did the same to Russell Tice, another NSA whistle blower who attempted to report an NSA employee's collusion with Communist China, but the employee's mother was a high-ranking manager so NSA looked the other way concerning the issue and viciously persecuted Mr. Tice, using the same fraudulent psychological attack.

"And yet, simultaneously, the CIA declared that budget concerns were forcing it to move its Counterterroris m Center/Osama bin Laden Unit from an “offensive” to a “defensive” posture."

Pre 9/11, budget concerns loom large.

Post 9/11 any budget concerns go way, way out the window. (Afghanistan, Iraq, etc., etc..)

WTF??? Doesn't this appear a bit odd/ suspicious to anyone?

After the Pueblo was captured, we became well prepared to destroy compromised facilities. I have no problem whatsoever in believing (and approving of) such destruction if the facility becomes compromised.

The Iranian Embassy capture showed not everyone was as prepared to make data unrecoverable.

Adoregon, see Robert A. Heinlein's 1941 short story"Logic of Empire" ("You have attributed conditions to villainy that simply result from stupidity").

For real villainy (and more stupidity) look at where my friends that worked for SoCal Edison criticized the management going along with those that forced the sale of IOUs (Investor Owned Utilities) to private owners, "piratizing" the industry, without any advantage whatsoever to the average customers and small investors that had stakes in "their" utilities. The thoroughly shameful ducking, dodging, and stalling by the Cheney/Bush castrated FERC, just furthered their goals as they did an estimated $40 billion to $45 billion damage to our economy.
"California had an installed generating capacity of 45GW. At the time of the blackouts, demand was 28GW." They totally fabricated blackouts in the winter, despite 38% idle capacity through phoney maintenance shutdowns (easily more than double the normal peak maintenance shutdowns).

They reacted stupidly, attacking Iraq as they had only wished they could, without at least a flimsy excuse, but to me, they were so focused on their other plans, that they cut every bit of infrastructure maintenance, research, and real security monitoring, that they were truly surprised. That despite many they refused to listen too, indeed actively censoring, who saw almost all of it coming.

I was working in and around the energy industry as they were deregulating it and MANY high level execs I was dealing with waxed quite candid as to how dereg was a license to steal...when asked specifically about the presenter who convinced the California PUC to join in with free marketizing and allowing energy to be traded in the open market, the exec repeated a news story about the presenter having applied a few simple rules of game theory to a napkin on the flight back to TEXASS (Enron Houston) and produced $20 billion in immediate profits...profi ts that is and NOT trade volume...Jesse James, Al Capone, Mayer Lansky all rolled into one malfeasant criminal pile.

those with any sense of what was going on in the world suspected and expected that there would be a terrorist attack in and on the is hardly earthshaking to find that paid agents of the government also had this "intuition"...duh?

but of course some will find all manner of evidence here that makes the brilliant white guys ( bush et all) the cause and execution of a terrorist act that was only surprising and shocking in its size and imagination...

Actually I have an 10th grade physics quiz for you - please bear with me for a minute.

Assume 111 slabs of concrete eveny spaced vertically on 410m, hovering in mid-air and only starting to fall when anything touches them from the top.
No energy is consumed by the shock from whatever falls on each storey.
The shock is considered purely plastic (i.e. no bouncing around).
Gravity is 9.81m/s^2

Hint: each storey's mass is added to the falling mass as it gets touched - this in itself slows down the fall.

Question: how long does it take for the building to fall to the ground?
(Secondary question, what is the height of the resulting pile based on the thickness of each storey?)

Now compare your result with the films you have seen of 911.

Remember: Pancake collapses consume energy at each storey to destroy support for said.
That energy is subtracted from the kinetic energy of whatever falls on the storey - essentially the fall is slowed down by the need to destroy what's in the way.

Don't believe whatever anyone tells you on face value: take Excel or OpenOffice Calc and do the math for yourself.

Anyone with a pulse knew the 9/11 attacks were coming--and would be allowed--follow ing the attack on the USS Cole. Get this: If you were boating off Norfolk or Virginia Beach, VA, and got within 100 yards of a Navy ship you would be warned off by armed Navy lookouts. This happened to me during the 1980s. But the USS Cole was parked in a TERRORIST PORT and had no deck watch.
Yep, 9/11 was not just an attack. It was the greatest national security blunder (or setup) in the last 50 years.

WHY.... Did the Bush administration tone down the hunt for Bin Laden and Al Qaeda?

1. His close family friends and financiers... THE BIN LADEN FAMILY... wouldn't have wanted a hair on his head hurt.

2. The Bin Ladens FINANCED Bush by bailing him out of his Arbusto Oil investment... Bush wasn't really concerned about Bin Laden.... but we ALREADY KNEW THAT.

and 3. BIN LADEN was a convenient distration for Bush/Cheney's BOMBIMG OF THE WTC ... so they could get into Afghanistan and BUILD UNOCAL'S "Trans-Afghanis tan Pipeline" from Turkmenistan/Uz ebekistan so they could ship their oil and natural gas to the Gulf.

Or, after slaughtering 3,000 people in the WTC, and slaughtering over 1 MILLION IRAQIS... did they fail at this, too?

In November 2000 just after the election the CIA told Clinton that they had found Bin Laden and that they were developing a predator drone to carry a warhead and wanted his permission to use it on Bin Laden. Clinton gave the go ahead. In February of 2001 just after taking office Bush nixed the action. Their reason was the possibility of collateral damage especially to visiting SAUDI ROYAL family members whom they knew visited Bin Laden often. Sure it might have killed a royal visitor but the Saudi's could not say anything unless they wanted to admit that they knew all along where Bin Laden was, even like Pakistan said they condemned him and were helping to find him. It would have also shown that they (the Saudi's) sponsored terrorist. This was reveled in May 2011 in the book AREA 51 the chapter called Revelation.

After the attack every plane was gounded...excep t the ben Laden family and the Saudi Royals. Hum.
I fully understand the politics and the decision making process described in this article but there is no doubt in my mind that Bush knew and let it happen.
