The Trump Administration Is Going After Naturalized Citizens Now

By Clio Chang, Splinter News

onald Trump’s administration is not only busy tearing children away from their parents at the border—they’re also going to start focusing on fresh new ways to oppress naturalized citizens in America. On Tuesday, the Associated Press reported that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the government agency that oversees immigration applications, is now creating a new office staffed by several dozen employees. It will be dedicated to looking for people who may have cheated to obtain their citizenship and stripping them of it. Think of it as terrorization by paperwork.

USCIS Director L. Francis Cissna told the AP in an interview that while the agency has taken up such cases before, this will be the first large-scale coordinated effort. “We finally have a process in place to get to the bottom of all these bad cases and start denaturalizing people who should not have been naturalized in the first place,” Cissna said. “What we’re looking at, when you boil it all down, is potentially a few thousand cases.” The cases will then be referred to the Department of Justice, which could seek to remove a person’s citizenship or even bring criminal fraud charges.

The act of the government denaturalizing citizens is rare and, according to the AP, previous efforts have mainly focused on suspected war criminals, such as former Nazis, who lied on their documentation. Now it will be just one more tool in the White House’s arsenal to terrorize the country’s immigrants.

A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

The next step? Going after natural-born U.S. citizens whose parents were ALSO natural-born citizens but who have at least one GRANDPARENT who came here illegally.

Gotta keep our national bloodstream pure, y'know!

Pure? Pure what? Only the Native Americans are here legally, strictly speaking. This could get interesting.

Francis Cissna, that doesn't sound like an American name to me. Maybe someone ought to check on whether the people who cheated on their paperwork have infiltrated the office checking on them. And while we are at it, if they cheated on their paperwork, then their kids lose their citizenship as well.

The next step will be to go after those of us whose ancestors came over before the repressive immigration laws started in 1924. Then they could deport us as retroactively illegal aliens. But this would be aimed at registered Democrats and other such traitors to the REAL Unite States. (LOL?)

There are plenty of native-born, multi-generatio n Americans out there committing heinous crimes. Neo-Nazis and such. Go after them, rather than wasting resources and trying to dream up excuses to uproot new, productive citizens over technicalities. Officials like Cissna are a blight on our nation.

Cissna's kind of weird name. Perhaps he should be investigated.

This is so creepy, especially since I believe that Trump's own grandfather had some serious issues with his naturalization. Another sign of Trump's growing insanity?

Another Nazi tactic: happened to Jews & Poles in the 1930’s.

Will the effect of culling immigrants and improperly naturalized citizens remove the very people who are working the hardest and wanting to be in the U.S. - leaving the many citizens who are disenchanted with where the country is going to stew in listless discomfort with broken dreams of righteousness?

By naturalized don't they mean children of one US citizen or the immigrant spouses of US citizens, or the children born in another country two US citizen parents? . I keep saying, we are going to have to deal with the specter of mass graves. There is nothing special about Americans that they can't turn into Nazis. So many are already KKK with too many sympathizers. This does not bode well for any of us.

Born in 1936, I vividly remember WWII although I was a child. During the war we lived in Chicago and there were frequent clashes between Bundists, native born of German descent & immigrant Germans who supported the Nazis, with Slavic Chicagoans. There & elsewhere, sometimes an immigrant would be jailed while native born Nazi sympathizers, German or otherwise (like hero Charles Lindbergh) lost popularity but Americans of European descent weren't herded into concentration camps like the naturalized & native born Japanese-Americ ans. The author of that horror was California governor Earl Warren--who convinced FDR it was necessary. The real pressure came from white Californians who wanted to steal the hard-working Japanese-Americ ans' farms, businesses and homes--and did. Warren regretted it and spent his Supreme Court years promoting human rights. Hawaii, which had a higher percent of Japanese than Calif, knew that nearly all were patriotic Americans. The young Nisei of Hawaii became enthusiastic soldiers against Fascism--but were sent only to Europe, not the Pacific. After the war, when we lived in Wisconsin for a couple of years I learned that packs of kids with German names had bullied and beat up kids with Polish names during the war. It probably happened everywhere. I'm 1/4 German, and the LARGEST segment in the US white population is German. Is that irrelevant? I'm sure it is with the Millennials, but they aren't the generation supporting Trump.

Donald Trump's grandfather became a citizen under a false name -- 'Trump' instead of the original German name 'Drumpf.' Since that was criminally deceptive, Donald Trump's own citizenship should be revoked!

Drumpf also couldn't make up his mind about his preference for citizenship--Ge rman or USian? Used his ties to Germany to promote his own wealth. Maybe that's why his grandson changes his mind every hour. Hereditary flipfloppers?

How much money will it cost to deport these supposed several thousand people? Add to that the lawsuits from people who were falsely targeted , thrown in ICE jails for a year, starved and given no medical attention, and then deported. Or their families, when they die.

The poor in this country need this money! We need it for schools, for infrastructure! We don’t need it to satisfy the blood lust of deluded Trump supporters!
