Someone Drove Through a Crowd of Demonstrators at Vigil in Missouri

ess than two weeks after a white nationalist allegedly rammed his car into a crowd of anti-racist activists in Charlottesville, VA, another person has weaponized a car to drive through a demonstration in St. Louis, MO.

Demonstrators were gathered in downtown St. Louis for a vigil honoring Kiwi Herring, a transgender woman who was shot by police on Tuesday. After the vigil ended, people took the streets with candles, prompting police to shutdown an intersection near the Transgender Memorial Garden, where Herring’s vigil was held.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that an unidentified man drove a black Mercedes into the crowd with his middle finger raised. Several people sustained minor injuries, one person who went over the car’s hood went to the hospital.

Witnesses described the driver as a middle-aged white man — he allegedly attempted to flee, but police later confirmed that the driver had been taken into custody.

Update: Police released a statement regarding the incident. “St. Louis police said the driver stopped, honked and attempted to drive around the protesters before some of them surrounded his car and began hitting it with their hands and a flag pole,” St. Louis spokeswoman Schron Jackson said in a statement to the Post-Dispatch. “Three protesters were injured after they jumped onto the car and fell off when the driver pulled away.”

A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

When a Muslim does this in Barcelona, it is rightly called terrorism.
Let's see what they call it here.

The police report is hard to believe. People jumped on the car and so forth. It is an attempt to make this into some sort of self defense.

Wrong, Elizabeth. When a Muslim does this in Barcelona, it IS terrorism, because it's a Muslim. When a white patriot does it in America is "Free Speech".

Based on "Update" (above), the cops are already covering for the driver, meaning he'll go unpunished -- which is precisely what I'd expect in officially misogynistic* Missouri or any other Jesunazi state.

RLF, be my guest. "JesuNazi," like the slightly less graphic "ChristoFascois t," is a gift of the Muse, which as far as I am concerned puts both nouns in the public domain.

I think JesuNazi is a perfect, perfectly accurate, relentlessly true description of that by which we are apocalyptically menaced, not only We the People of the United States, but our entire species and indeed the planet itself.

JesuNazism is the uniquely USian update of Hitler's original, an implicitly genocidal hybrid of capitalism metamorphosed into fascism reinforced by the core elements of the original Nazism: militant white supremacy, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, all these hatreds bound together by the infinite sadism of fanatical Christian theocracy and the ultimate moral imbecility expressed by Ayn Rand's fictionalizatio ns of Hitler's "Mein Kampf."

Apart from its association with USian imperialism rather than German imperialism, JesuNazism is clearly -- especially in its admixture of economics, politics and religion -- the ideological spawn of Hitler's original. As indeed it has been since the Hitler-inspired , anti-humanitari an Capitalist/Chri stian Collaboration infected the U.S. with its venom during the early 1930s.

Check out JesuNazism's history, you'll discover it is unquestionably part of the One Percent's response to the defeat of the 1934 Bankers' Plot.

Well, we know the St. Louis police wouldn't lie.

Because lieing is a sin and the Evangical God does not like sins.

Curtailing freedom of speech is, granted, a "slippery slope" but people "acting" against what our Constitution stipulations are not just "terrorists", they are traitors and should garner the worst punishments. VP Pence, should be the first to receive this designation for making laws based on one religion's ideas. Congresskind have no business passing laws that are based on religious myths. It's time we remember what our Constitution says about this. All these religious people care about is proselytizing and trying to force the rest of us to follow their mythic god's with no regard or understanding of science or the need for us to curb our numbers to what our Earth can support. Or even worse, selling out our Constitution.
