#PaulRyanSoScared He Sent 6 Security Guards to Block Planned Parenthood Volunteers From Delivering Him Their Petitions

By Dayna Evans, New York Magazine

07 January 17

fter yesterday’s news confirming that the GOP is planning to strip Planned Parenthood of its funding as a part of their bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act, Planned Parenthood supporters began flooding Paul Ryan’s office with phone calls protesting the decision. Today, to further their opposition, more than 50 Planned Parenthood Action Fund supporters will attempt to hand-deliver 80,000 petitions to the Speaker of the House expressing their discontent.

The #IStandWithPP supporters will be convening at the Longworth House Office Building at 11:30 a.m. to attempt the delivery. Volunteers are now organizing 300 events in 47 states and 150 cities in the U.S. to communicate to legislators that defunding Planned Parenthood would strip millions of women of access to affordable reproductive health care.

Update, 1/6/2017, 3:30 p.m.: Officials from Planned Parenthood say six security guards were sent to block delivery of the petitions to the House Speaker’s office, and shortly thereafter, Ryan’s office was “conveniently closed.” The petitions were eventually accepted by Representative Gwen Moore (D-Wisconsin). your social media marketing partner

A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

Now I understand the reason for the legislation, Ryan's afraid of women.
+9 # HowardMH 2017-01-08 12:40
What we need is 200 more women in the House of Representatives and 70 more in the Senate -- then might actually get some work done the people want and need.

Women like Sarah Palin and that other whacko who somehow got elected to Congress?

He should be afraid of women he's attacking them at every turn of the way. He's the Devil and now he looks like a Devil. Prophetic.

I expect the Devil would look better in a beard than the #scragglyPaulRy an in this photo.

Why ARE 1% white men and rw political predators so terrified of women's advancement and equality? They'll lose dominating power!

It's always struck me as such a waste -- sexism, racism, homophobia, xenophobia. We have so many problems to tackle every day, but before we even look at the problem we cut off 50-80% of our observers, explorers, thinkers and solvers? It is a stupid strategy that must eventually fail -- unless the core group (in this case Christian-frien dly white men) is exceptionally capable -- and there is no evidence for that.

The 1960s peace movement not trusting anyone over 30! I was a political baby but I knew that was messed up. Great people don't become a$$es when they get older, stupid people don't get wiser; good people are everywhere, and it turns out they should have been worried about moles, not elders.

I wonder what the demographics of the intelligence agencies are.

Women are great thinkers, very energetic and nurturing too -- not a bad thing. They connect us back to the citizenry more while men appreciate compartmentaliz ing. Both approaches are valuable for many reasons. (And I suppose I must explicitly state that not ALL of any group blah blah)

People and organizations are foolish to waste women's talents and to encourage their enmity. One of my old boyfriends used to abuse waiteresses terribly, and I often wondered how much spit he ate. The American revolution was progressed by the intelligence from women and slaves.

Why do GOP legislatures attack women as soon as they gain power? Don't they respect their mothers or sisters?

Too bad Republicans are so willing to give guns to just anybody. If guns were harder to come by in this country, perhaps Paul Ryan wouldn't need to be so scared.

Women seldom use guns. They'd prefer to kill you with a thousand cutting words.
+2 # anthraxripple 2017-01-08 10:27
And songwriters kill you softly with their song.

Oh you poor little thing. How badly were you cut?

Clever, if bitter. You know the saying about men being afraid women will laugh at them, and women being afraid men will kill them?

Reality suggests that words can be annoying, and even painful, but they do not actually kill people. (Unless it's the word 'Fire!', I suppose.)

Words cut both ways. For every man who's been hurt there's a woman who's been humiliated too. Jerks come in all sizes, shapes, colors and genders -- and so do their victims. Despite all our belief, the world is bigger than our own individual experience.

You should consult some reliable statistics. Perhaps the percentage of women is low but the numbers are not zero. Here in Philly a woman just shot a guy WHILE he was driving. They careened off the avenue and overturned. She must have been really mad.

I think there's a new psychological condition that should be officially recognized, vaginaphobia. Seems to be most prevalent among Republican congress critters.

Why is he worried? There is no credible threat to any of the religious reich wing krishten conservative population.

The only political position endangered seems to be liberals ... never a conservative ... but no, there's no big picture to this is there??? Right.

And there at the helm of the ship is Pence with his head up every womans vagina in the country.

I wonder when he last donated bone marrow or part of his liver? Does he think he should be forced to donate a kidney? What about after he's dead? Does he regularly donate blood? TO SAVE THE LIVES OF REAL LIFE HUMAN BEINGS?

But it's OK to say I MUST donate my uterus for a nine-month growth which may someday become human?

Please help me with the logic
