elcome to New York, Paulie!

Paul Manafort is reportedly about to be transferred to Rikers Island as prosecutors in New York prepare to try him on a string of state charges.

The disgraced Trump campaign boss would likely be placed in solitary confinement to protect him from possible attacks by fellow inmates.

Several news outlets reported the impending transfer, citing sources close to Manafort.

The gritty Big Apple lock-up might be a significant culture shock for the imprisoned con man and politico, who has been doing time in comparatively plush minimum security federal prison in Pennsylvania.

A New York grand jury charged Manafort with 16 counts including mortgage fraud and falsifying business records.

Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance has said that “no one is beyond the law in New York,” noting that Manafort cannot be pardoned by President Trump for state crimes.

Manafort, who was chairman of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, was sentenced to 7-1/2 years in prison by a federal judge on unrelated fraud charges.
