Citing Iranian Threat, US Sends Carrier Group and Bombers to Persian Gulf

he White House announced on Sunday that the United States was sending an aircraft carrier strike group and Air Force bombers to the Middle East because of “troubling and escalatory indications and warnings” related to Iran.

The deployment was intended “to send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force,” said John R. Bolton, the national security adviser, in a statement released Sunday night.

The announcement did not give any further information on the reasons for the commitment of military forces. An American military official said on Sunday night that whatever threat Mr. Bolton cited had most likely emerged in the previous 24 to 48 hours because as of late Friday, military analysts were not tracking any new, imminent or clearly defined Iranian or Iranian-backed threats against Americans in Iraq or the region.

A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

It's just John Bolton clearing his throat and scaring the hell out of most everybody in the world. You know Bolton who never found a war he didn't like.

It would appear that the Hitler wanne-be thing that's occupying the WH is trying to start a nuclear conflagration. There is no other rationale for all the Machiavellian goose-stepping that's going on. When the Captain of a ship appears to have lost his mental bearing, the Captain is relieved of duty. Time to stop the thing from terrorizing the entire world and place it in a padded cell.

I think that the orange thing is aiming for some sort of war - whether domestic or foreign - that will make people unite behind a so-called 'war president.' NO. We learned our lesson with non-elected bush.

Any such incident will indicate that our tripartite governmental system is Broken.

Any aggressive or unilateral actions against any UN member state, without prior authorization by the Security Council, is to be considered aggression, and the Security council shall recommnend joint action against the aggressor state... unless that happens to be the U.S. which will veto such recommendation and carry out the aggression notwithstanding . The world will appease the rogue state which is positioning itself to dominate them all in its own interest. We saw this in the 1930s and the results were quite undesirable. Let's learn from history.

Trump sends strike group and bombers against Iran while Iran sends nothing against the U.S., and the deep state propaganda organ, New York Times, says Iranians are the threat?

Bolton is a signatory to the treasonous PNAC that called for a Pearl Harbor-type event (even, it implied, a false flag) that would forever tangle the US in endless wars fought simultaneously on multiple fronts. Bolton is an insane pawn of the MIC and is a traitor.

Adding to the death-problem, traitor Pompeo (overthrowing the co-equality of our three branches of government) says he won't 'promise' to inform Congress if he decides to commit the war crime of illegally attacking Venezuela.

Iraq did nothing to us. Iran has done nothing to us. Venezuela has done nothing to us. The trump Republican administration in contrast, is a death cult aimed at the fascist overthrow of our government.

We need a general strike asap - Before all dissent is considered 'treason,' Before all dissenters are killed. Consider this, for example, and kindly read its internal links:

"Why is CNN mainstreaming a right-wing radio host who promotes violent, extreme rhetoric?"
https://www. (DOT) salon (DOT) com/2018/08/08/why-is-cnn-mainstreaming-a-right-wing-radio-host-who-promotes-violent-extreme-rhetoric/

Pardon my use of (DOT). I'm not sure whether RSN allows operable links.

Worth noting:

"Israel passed White House intelligence on possible Iran plot "
https://www.axios.com/israel-warned-trump-of-possible-iran-plot-bolton-34f25563-c3f3-41ee-a653-9d96b4541984.html

The source of the so-called "intelligence" on this so-called "threat" was none other than Mossad, Israel's hawkish central intelligence agency.
