Trump Admin Cuts Off Planned Parenthood From Federal Family Planning Funding

By Axios

23 February 19

he Trump administration issued a rule Friday barring Planned Parenthood and other groups that offer abortions or abortion referrals from participating in the $286 million federal family planning program, reports the Washington Post.

What they're saying: Per the Post, critics of the mandate say it indirectly defunds Planned Parenthood, which provides general health care and STD treatment in addition to abortion services. The Title X program mostly serves low-income women. Supporters of the rule and antiabortion groups, like the the Susan B. Anthony List, say it will "disentangle taxpayers" from Planned Parenthood.

A note of caution regarding our comment sections:

For months a stream of media reports have warned of coordinated propaganda efforts targeting political websites based in the U.S., particularly in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

We too were alarmed at the patterns we were, and still are, seeing. It is clear that the provocateurs are far more savvy, disciplined, and purposeful than anything we have ever experienced before.

It is also clear that we still have elements of the same activity in our article discussion forums at this time.

We have hosted and encouraged reader expression since the turn of the century. The comments of our readers are the most vibrant, best-used interactive feature at Reader Supported News. Accordingly, we are strongly resistant to interrupting those services.

It is, however, important to note that in all likelihood hardened operatives are attempting to shape the dialog our community seeks to engage in.

Adapt and overcome.

Trump and his minions need to be bobbitized. Then there would be no need for abortions. BTW, I wonder how many abortions occurred as a result of his dalliences? Planned Parenthood doesn't receive federal funds for the few abortions they perform. Most of their funding goes to poor women for birth control and other supplies and for counseling regarding prevention of unwanted pregnancies. Women's healthcare is their own business NOT the government's or the cburch. Both these institutions should spend their money educating men to be more responsible in the area of procreation. That would solve many problems.

Men be responsible re procreation ? Fat chance. Evangelical churches be fair on the issues of culpability? Come on now, most of the officials are male, and ministers tend to look the other way when is comes to sexual responsibility. Their stand on abortion smacks of class legslation as well as hypocrisy.

The Trump Administration, which has kidnapped thousands of foreign-born children away from their parents and housed them in juvenile concentration camps, his being highly hypocritical (and dishonest) about their alleged "concern for human life."
