Israeli Forces Detain 16 Palestinians From West Bank, Including 3 Ahed Tamimi Relatives

In February, nearly 10 Palestinians were abducted and detained by the Israeli forces during a raid in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh.

sraeli forces have detained 16 Palestinians from across the West Bank, the WAFA Palestinian news agency reported citing the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

According to the report, Israeli forces detained eight Palestinians from Ramallah and al-Bireh district, including a local leader of Fateh movement, as well as three others in Nabi Saleh, with three of them belonging to the family of Ahed Tamimi.

One of Tamimi's family members, Amjad Tamimi was taken prisoner after he reportedly received several phone threats by the soldiers. He was held captive several times over the last few months, in an illegal measure meant at forcing his brother Ezzeddin to turn himself in to the army, the International Middle East Media Monitor reported.

Six others were detained from Nablus district to the north of West Bank, and two people detained from Hizma to the east of Jerusalem.

The village of Hizma with the population of nearly 7,000 people, has seen its entrances blocked for over two months for allegedly pelting stones at the passing Israeli vehicles.

In February, nearly 10 Palestinians, including five minors, were abducted and detained by the Israeli forces during a raid in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh. All of those arrested were relatives of the 17-year-old Ahed Tamimi, the Palestinian teen who has become an international symbol of the Palestinian resistance.

Ahed Tamimi was charged with aggravated assault, obstructing the work of soldiers, and incitement, among other charges on Jan. 2.

She was arrested on Dec. 19, after a video of her slapping two Israeli soldiers outside her home in Nabi Saleh went viral.
