He was not always a big Trump fan.

onald Trump has selected investor Anthony Scaramucci to be his new White House Communications Director. Scaramucci is expected to be a pugnacious defender of the president.

It wasn’t always this way.

In 2015, Scaramucci appeared on the Fox Business Network to talk about politics. They played a clip of Donald Trump attacking “hedge fund guys.”

Scaramucci responded with an extended rant against Trump, calling his new boss “another hack politician” and “anti-American.” He said Trump’s rhetoric is “very, very divisive.”

He wasn’t done.

“[I]t’s very very divisive. I’ll tell you who he’s going to be president of,” he said, looking into the camera, “you can tell Donald I said this, the Queens County Bullies Association. You gotta cut it out now and stop all this crazy rhetoric spinning everybody’s heads around.”

Another host interjected that it was rich that Scaramucci finally drew the line with Trump’s rhetoric on “hedge fund guys,” after everything Trump had said about women.

Scaramucci agreed with her.

“I don’t like the way he talks about women, I don’t like the way he talks about our friend Megyn Kelly, and you know what, the politicians don’t want to go at Trump because he’s got a big mouth and because [they’re] afraid he’s going to light them up on Fox News and all these other places,” he said. “But I’m not a politician. Bring it. You’re an inherited money dude from Queens County. Bring it, Donald.”

He repeated the last line of that line of argument for emphasis.

Scaramucci accused Trump of being a “Democratic plant” for Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

“Stand here and prove otherwise,” Scaramucci said, again turning to the camera to address Trump directly. He criticized Trump for “splitting classes” which he said was right out of Clinton and Warren’s playbook.

He ended the segment saying “this nonsense is going to end, and I predict it’ll end before Thanksgiving.”

After Trump ran away with the nomination, Scaramucci changed his tune and joined the Trump campaign’s fundraising efforts and economic advisory team. He tweeted things like, “more time spent with @realDonaldTrump the more you like him.” He then cleaned up his tweets critical of Trump:

Bloomberg News also reported last year that Scaramucci had deleted a 2015 tweet saying “David Trump [sic] started it by a trashing our industry with no facts he should stick to TV and Real Estate,” according to Fusion.
