Rachel Maddow shows the correlation between the increased number of Democrats who took advantage of early voting in the 2008 election from 2004, and the better Democratic outcome in some states, resulting in the election of Barack Obama to the presidency, and notes the startled urgency with which state Republicans are trying to curtail or eliminate early voting before the 2012 election.

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Newt Gingrich said it: "If we told the truth, nobody would vote for us."

All part of a much bigger, very ugly picture:

BUSHWHACK and KOCHSUCK the 99% - carefully planned and executed total enslavement of we, the sheeple.

No longer any right to vote and/or have any vote honestly counted, no assurance of enforcement of regs. of essential govt. agencies (i.e. EPA, FDA, etc.).

Then there's Rule of Law in the toilet, and coming close to being flushed down, with Obama's this year's signing (vs. vetoing, as he said he going to do) of the NDAA - National Defense Authorization Act. Google on Justia: Hedges, et. al. v. Obama, et. al. Best wannabe truthtelling journalists, whistleblowers, justice and peace activists imaginable are the plaintiffs in this case. Judge ruled in plaintiff's favor, and granted temp. restraining order on May 16, '12. Obama administration appealed this decision recently. Cannot have truth come out, now can they? The villainaire rulers and their Kochsucking minions have worked too hard to enslave us all, via an article in this year's NDAA which allows military arrest of citizens without charge(s), incarceration in a jail here or abroad, indefinite detention with no trial/due process.

Revolution's coming - lots and lots we've gotta do to... UNDO THE COUP !!!

Politics ain't beanbag This voter suppression campaign the GOPers have been waging all across the country has had so little national coverage that now it is almove too late to stop this agenda they have with stealth been legislating at the state and local level. True, voting law is traditionally a state and local issue. But the days of bipartisan cooperation in preserving a semblance of fairness are dead and gone along with every other tradition of political give and take. Register! Vote Democratic! You will hear cynical chatter about how both parties are bad, etc. I think a lot of that is GOPer plants who want you to hate government. When only their own supporters can vote they can just...stage a mlitary coup and do away with voting altogether. It's happened in so many places in the world, don't think it can't happen here.

Like the more active format.I also like Maddow's no crap presentation. My only wish is that one could footnote her script simply for fact checking. Vote rigging is a GOP sin these days, Richard Daily is dead. Bossism has changed into hacking and machine tampering. Republicans have been stealing the vote for years while waving the the flag about individual fraud a minor percentage, while stealing the vote in the millions and where is Eric Holder?
