They expose conditions that make the mechanics of this election extremely vulnerable to devious manipulation. Besides citing the usual GOP tricks to strip potential voters from the voter roles or deny them the right to cast ballots, they expose how thousands of properly cast ballots simply “disappear.”  Because the vote for Obama in 2008 was much larger than what the GOP could reasonably steal, he survived and brought other Democrats along with him.  The same was true for him 2012, but not for many of his compatriots.

For the 2016 elections, Fitrakis and Wasserman describe a new and more formidable GOP plan to steal votes by electronic means.  They contend that if electronic voting machines now in the hands the GOP governors of such swing states as Florida, North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, and Arizona remain unregulated and unmonitored, they can be used to flip vote tallies to give Trump the win.  Given this state of affairs, getting voters to the polls in overwhelming numbers simply won’t work this time. Their voting rights and their actual votes must be protected like never before.

A straight out “win” by Donald Trump will be a disaster.  It must be prevented if at all possible.  However, even if Trump is not elected he can still “win” big time via the electronic theft described by Fitrakis and Wasserman.  If enough GOP minions are retained in other offices and new ones are elected they can continue the blockage of a President whose power Trump and his supporters want to curtail.  If that happens, Hillary may become President and be subjected to the same encumbrance that Obama has had to accept for the past eight years. Under this stalemate situation, Trump and other corporate players will continue doing business as usual. Their profits and power will be enhanced.  The rest of us will be obliged to witness physical deterioration our country and steady reduction of our personal assets.
