In the Senate this crazy right-winger
Upset party leadership; they clearly HaTED

So he softened up (?) for the campaign trail
And many evangelical Iowans AppreciaTED

A true principled conservative is what we need;
Whatever that is. But he InsisTED

Cuban-American birther born in Canada
Haters of all stripes his campaign EnlisTED

Yet his appeal simply wasn’t broad enough
On most Tuesdays CNN duly NoTED

The Senator came up short again and again
Whenever the primary goers VoTED

Old school politics no longer work
The Grand Old Party seems badly OutdaTED

When the front-runner Donald tweets about
National Enquirer reporting he FornicaTED

The so-called establishment could not establish
True love for an ego so incredibly InflaTED

A Hail Mary named Carly didn’t fix it
He still leaves everyone AggrivaTED

Aiming one last time at Indiana’s basketball “ring”
An airball! By Kasich voters ShunTED

One final tirade, then finally, mercifully
Ted Cruz backed up and PunTED.
