As most of you know, in the few years since we founded New Politics and New Ideas, we have had tremendous success! In our home state the legislature is about to go back to work, they have more than a handful of bills and proposals from us. On the National level, they have been seeing the same type of thing from us. We currently have over 160,000 members nation-wide, while we have but a handful of members through social-media.

While everyone says that social-media is the way of the future when it comes to marketing and connecting with people. We have found that the good old fashioned way is the best way to connect with folks. We have taken avenues such as, pestering lobbyists, politician's staffers, and politicians themselves, and have had a tremendous response. All of these people, Republican, Democrat or otherwise have joined in.

In the end what it boils down to is just common sense, progressive thinking. That and the threat of losing their jobs! But regardless of the facts we ARE making an impact. We have had school finance bills passed in our home state of Texas, and we are currently fighting the greed among our politicians. We have gathered nearly 1,000,000 signatures to stop the greed in Washington. All the while, politicians are trying to keep your attention away from the fact that they are taking your rights away, one-at-a-time.

Wake up people, they are using tragedies to keep you focused away from the big picture. If you ask me, what happened in Sandy Hook is no reason to take away gun-rights, or even limit those rights. If anything, take the stupid signs down that say "there are no guns here", and replace them with "if you mess with this school, you will die!" Now that's my personal opinion, and I'm sure I'll here some flak for it, but that's what freedom is about. Without tolerance there is no freedom, if you are not willing to put up with someones crap, then that person is not free!

I'm also a believer in the Semi-Automatics, if this nation were to revolt how would we do it? With pea-shooters and hunting rifles? While our police forces are becoming more oppressive and militarized, we are being dis-armed. You can't be serious if you are FOR gun control. The simple fact is Mental Health Care should be easier to acquire than a gun. I'm all for background checks for gun purchases, and also believe they should be more extensive.

Screw these politicians that applaud themselves for "kicking the can" on the budget, when they are the ones who created the problem in the first place. Don't let these assholes fool you, we need to vote them out of office and let the regular Joes of America take a crack at it. After all that's the whole idea behind a government run by the people FOR THE PEOPLE.

The time to act is now and let YOUR voice be heard! Eventually the commonality in the voice of the people will be heard loud and clear. We've done it successfully many times, and so can you!
