Mother Nature Will Not Endorse the GOP

Today, many experts view the American electorate as impulsive, nearsighted and not very bright. There are millions of voters facing disturbing disruptions in the climate this summer. News of further Weather related disasters may carry us right into the election. These issues will likely not exceed the economy in importance. However, it may cause some to question the ability of the GOP to even understand our situation, let alone set policy to deal with it.
A string of disasters in the late summer news with reports of wild fires, flash floods, wind storms and perhaps dust storms on the scale of the 1930s may tip the scales for many impulsive American voters.
Think back to Katrina and the effect on the credibility of the GOP at the time. If we ever squarely face the multiple atmospheric threats waiting in the wings to molest our homeland, I do not see the typical voter trusting the GOP to meet the challenge. They are after all the party that even today officially denies that the multiple disasters we are watching unfold in front of us this year are even related to one another. Mother Nature may play her strong hand against the GOPs weak one in the card game of our fall election.

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.
General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.
Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.
