Ebola can lead to Free or Affordable Healthcare for all Americans, One Way or Another

If a flu-like spreading disaster like Ebola came to America, routine paid sick leave, paid time-off to take care of a relative especially child of to see a doctor will be the norm. As more and more people and goods quickly travel the globe health care for spreadable disease can only stay uncoordinated to all our chagrin.

In Africa Obama is sounding the alarm warning that Ebola a terror threat to the US (note the Nigerian economy is almost in a state of collapse as trade has all but stopped.) The US military is rushing in masks and high-tech protective gear to places with infrastructure and often untrained in high-tech nurses try to use it with limited success. Norway, England, Britain, Germany and Cuba are helping in different ways, little Cuba's teams of medical personnel taking the most risk.

The problem in Africa is that Malaria and Lassa Fever that are rampant have similar symptoms at early stages. Treating Ebola at the same hospitals crowded with other deadly diseases checkmates the healthcare system. Malaria could be eliminated quickly Lassa Fever controlled if the world was determined, freeing up health officials to deal with mostly Ebola.

Ominously many are hiding new cases since the entire family would be ostracized. In some places survivors are shunned, and badly need to be employed at Ebola treatment centers. Being cured provides considerable immunity. If comprehensive heath care plus a supply of rice for the family and nearby neighbors for people with Malaria and Lassa Fever, people would call for help at the first sign of fever. Ebola is one disease that can't spread until symptom appear. We can't stop Ebola without fighting three diseases at the same time. At present many Africans think Ebola Centers are morgue-like hospices where one goes or are seized to die.

In other words, to stop Ebola from coming to America we must supply what amounts to paid sick leave for Africans at least if it seems like the flu while as we so far won't guarantee it for ourselves. Let's instead do it for both. Cuba will show us how to do it at less cost and have more to spend on helping Africa if only we would end the blockade of Cuba.

During the building of the Panama Canal, Dr. Jesse William Lazear, second in command at the US Army Corp of Engineers, put himself and other Army Corps medical personnel volunteers in a room full of mosquitoes, dying for his effort. In 2014, around August 1, there was lively moral discussion about, at first, choosing Westerners for lifesaving medicine, instead of picking Africans, comments cut short because comments closed at those sites, discussion can continue at the above link where comments don't close.

An American and a British nurse Nancy Writebol, and William Pooley chosen for lifesaving Zappa feel obligated by being given rare Zappa to survive to return to work in Africa.

I hope they are called to work without all the protection, and local survivors hired as well, made willing to do so by their example, just like the late hero doctor of Sierre Leone stopped cured patients from being ostracized by hugging them.

There are complaints about a black-market in survivors blood used to treat new victims, the poor survivors getting little and the dealers a tidy profiy,

Survivors should be paid to work around the sick since they have partial immunity and perhaps some for their blood as well. Warning blood from Ebola survivors have been tried several times over the years with only limited positive results,

Because Americas and the British know 90% more about a US doctor and an American and British nurse who survived with Zmapp then they do about hero doctor, Dr. Sheik Umar Khan, who saved hundreds from deadly disease, especially Lassa Fever and got Ebola then being denied life-saving medicine, even though a dose was nearby. If these two nurses Nancy Writebol, and William Pooley would throw off the protective gloves and, masks other survivors would work near the sick as well.

Let's pretend the Tea Party won a smashing victory and public hospitals became hospices where the poor went to die or be seized into if they had something contagious, if this happened the poor in bankrupt places like Detroit would hide from health care.

Let's try to stop this plague with our brains, not massive supplies, and deal with dangerous terrorists also with our brains not massive half-thought out reactions.
