The "Clear the Board Monopoly Game" of World War Two Explained in 3 Paragraphs

With two huge, wonderful, oceans between us and trouble, we Americans had and still have little need for a large defense force, so as late as 1939 our military was only ranked #18 in the world. Yet while We the People were stridently isolationist, some of our bankers and manufacturers were busily violating the World War One Treaty of Versailles, not only rearming Germany, but deeply funding and enabling the Nazi Party. Just a few examples, here: Henry Ford gave the Nazis $70. million and 6 pages of Hitler's best-selling book Mein Kampf were lifted verbatim from Ford's virulent anti-Semetic book, The International Jew. Ford army trucks, built thru a German subsidiary, were produced throughout the entire war. Senator Prescott Bush, who brokered back-channel deals supplying Germany with 40% of its armor plate steel until 1942, was censured under the Trading With the Enemy Act. General Motors was deeply fined for ramping up production in it's German factories while lagging behind in it's war quotas here. Standard Oil not only fueled Japan's aggression in China and Korea, throughout the war it supplied Japan with a patented gasoline additive that it's American-designed Zero fighter planes could not fly without. Pearl Harbor and our bases in the Philipines were attacked only when we shut off oil supplies to Japan, after we got them addicted to oil, of course.

By the time we entered the European war 2 ½ years after it started, the British Empire was bankrupt and on the ropes. Had the air Battle of Britain lasted a few days longer, Britain would have been overrun and could not have served as the giant war staging area it became for the Allies. Had the Soviets not eventually destroyed 80% of all German Army divisions, Europe would be part of the Third Reich today. Untouched by war, our factories supplied our military and our Allies with arms and we let them do most of the bleeding and dying in Europe, with us only giving a small tithe of men in comparison to their huge casualties. Fighting Japan was our war for the most part, though. But with massive war material production and 8 million citizens under arms with comparatively few casualties, our military leap-frogged from #18 to #1 in only five years; so profitable a venture that we did away with our wartime only Secretary and Department of War and established a permanent war footing with our Department of “Defense.”

The Nazis amassed a huge amount of loot and treasure from occupied countries and the many millions of people they killed in concentration camps and in battle. The Allied High Command was aware of the dozens of camps – they were too many and too big to hide from aerial reconnicance photos, and reports from escapees were many and early. But we chose not to slow the Holocaust by bombing rail lines leading to them, rather allowing the Nazis to kill them and steal everything they owned. At the end of the war in Europe, while the Soviets were hammering Berlin to rubble and forcing Hitler to kill himself, our Third Army took possesion of the unimaginely vast loot stash the Nazis had hidden in Merkers salt mines. Much of this loot was returned to its original owners, but since many millions of them were dead, we appropriated much of that loot, some of which provided unaccountable black funds for our many new alphabet soup intel agencies. So, many of our corps and bankers funded/created Hitler and company, made billions of dollars producing arms for his destruction, and then after letting them rape and pillage Western and Eastern Europe, we stepped in and took that loot from them. THAT is what I mean by a “clear the board Monopoly game,” my friends. Please enter “Merkers Mines” in a Google Images search; and note that there are no Soviet officers present – surely a huge source of Cold War tensions, after 20 million Soviets were killed fighting Hitler, and since they were the ones who kicked his ass. Peace Out! -Brendan
